Deeply disappointed by the Mackdonald language academy. Our 13yo son had to wait all day at the airport upon his arrival because there is only one transfer in the evening. But most of all, his « host family » (a single lady) had absolutely no time for her 3 young guests: they had to walk back home by themselves from various places in town and sometimes had to ring at the neighbour’s because there was nobody at home to let them in, and our 13-year-old son spent all his evenings and weekends on his own in his bedroom or wandering around in town with other students (many were in the same situation, so the students just hang out by nationality). In the last morning, our son had to wake up his hostess or he would have missed the bus to the airport! When we raised this issue, the school replied that this person is « an accomplished host mother »; we probably do not have the same standards. As for the program itself, the morning classes are in English but for all other activities, supervision is minimal: students gather by nationality and only speak their mother tongue. Do not choose this school if your goal is to improve your English.

The MackDonald Language Academy is perfect for teenagers and children but it has to improve its formation when the students are teachers. The instructors who taught us are competitive, responsible and pleasant but they have been a little lost about what to teach us in AICLE Methodology. The building of the academy is correct but it has to make better their systems, especially the digital ones. During the breaks, the academy offered us different snaks, teas and coffee.

One of the best experiences in my life so far! Lovely host family, great activities... I had lot of fun, improved my English and made lots of new friends. I recommend Mackdonald Language Academy without any doubt! MARINA ARROYO

Great staff of teachers engaged with their work. Their strength is dealing with teenagers. People attending come from Spain, France, Germany, Russia, Ukraine...Plenty of activities in the afternoon related with history, art, irish dance...Great experience. Highly advisable.

I love the experience of visiting Killkeny, I hope one day travel to Ireland again.

I had a very good experience with thos academy. The class and the activities were fun. I made friends from around the world and learned about their cultur. The only bad thing I can say is, when there is a group of the same language, people don't always try to speak English and it's not really fun when you're with them.

It was a fantastic experience for my son Luke.He was very nervous on the first day but very happy by the end of the week. All the teachers were very nice to him. He will come back for a longer period of time in the next few years. His sister will join him next time. I would highly recommend this school to students who want to experience a good time while learning English.My son is from Osaka, Japan.

The lessons were good because we mostly played games and the teacher was really nice. But the toilets (especially downstairs) were horrible. There were like giant mosquitoes (or crane flies idk) and spiders in the toilet cabin. The toilets were clean though and there was always soap.I also want to mention joe (our Tourguide) who was pretty funny :)

I stayed in Kilkenny for three months with Mackdonald Organisation and I had an absolutey wonderful experience. The Trips we went onto with the Group where a lot of fun. I made many New friends and integrated very well into the irish culture. I would definetly recommend doing a semester or half year in a foreign country
