We booked a tour and tasting with Robin for a hen party activity. The passion from them both is just incredible - they went above and beyond to make it a special day and I highly recommend you come for a visit and buy some wine!

Albourne Estate
Great wines in an amazing location, but customer service could do with improvements. We booked a wine tour, you see a little of the vineyard but not as much as hoped. You then proceed to the winery to see their vats and hear about the process. Unfortunately they had a power cut whilst we were there so we couldn’t see the bottling/storage room. This was followed by a visit to the old dairy for tasting where wines are paired with cheeses. All very worthwhile. We had pre booked the charcuterie and cheese boards, it’s not made clear these are for after your wine tasting in a separate room so you need to buy additional wine flights to accompany them. Not a problem, just not expected. After the tour we popped around to the tasting room where you can experience additional wine flights for £15 for 3 x 50ml, and cheese/charcuterie boards at £15 each. You don’t need to pre order, we thought you did.We had been having a lovely time, but due to the power cut they were having difficulties with their payment machine. This was unfortunate, but the way it was handled was rude and inconsiderate. Our 4G was also lacking, so despite efforts to pay the payment link we were struggling - mean while our drinks, already served, were busy getting warm. They made us feel like we we trying not to pay, we had already spent money on the tour we were hardly likely to leave without paying for anything. Either don’t pour drinks until your payment systems are sorted or allow customers to enjoy the experience before hassling them - poor form. This was topped off by being asked to vacate our table as a group were coming who had booked “that” table. There were lots of other tables available and no reservation signs. We had just been discussing which sparkling to buy a case of (Blanc de Blanc for us!). However at this point we had had enough of feeling like an inconvenience.Thankfully it saved us overpaying for the sparkling, they charge £37 a bottle direct but you can buy online for £25! So my advice, but online as their are wholesalers offering free delivery too.In France when you visit a vineyard they offer you an enticing price as you’re buying direct, no transportation costs, no wholesalers commissions, but not here - it stunk of profiteering to want RRP when wholesalers can sell for £12 less and still make good profits.Such a shame, with a few tweaks it could be amazing but we walked away feeling most put out and they missed out on an order that would have been over £200.UPDATE:Sadly following their reply we won’t be revisiting, they take no responsibility for their rudeness. The power cut had absolutely nothing to do with booting us off our table, and yes though directly their website price is the same as the shop MANY other wholesalers sell their wines much more affordably, just Google the wine you want and you’ll have lots of options online. I’m all for supporting local, but not when you can buy elsewhere with transport costs/commissions for less.I had hoped my experience on the day was due to a power cut/pressure of this - but the reply highlights that they don’t take responsibility or feedback well. Perhaps a “sorry we booted you off your table, we will learn by this and use reservation signs moving forward” would have been a more customer focused reply. The vineyard experiences in Norfolk, Suffolk and France were superior to Albourne, but if you’re passing it’s still worth a taste.

Ridgeview Wine Estate
I have been enjoying sparkling wines by Ridgeview for many years. I, was very excited to be able to book a tasting for me and some fellow sparkling wine lovers for private tasting. The booking process could not have been easier. Annabel and her team were just fabulous and very accommodating to a last minute change. The views of the vineyard was spectacular, it provided the perfect background to enjoy a variety of their sparkling wines.Sandro, hosted our tasting and he was just excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly. The team on the day made us feel at ease...just a fabulous day. We will be returning to Ridgeview, later on in the year...once their restaurant opens to sample the food and of course purchase some more of their award winning sparkling wine. Highly recommended taking the tour as it is a great day out.

Wroxeter Roman Vineyard
It is a lovely vineyard, and has a pleasant shop selling wine from it. We came in today and were invited to taste several of the fruity, fragrant wines of the estate. Needless to say, we left carrying a collection of them just purchased! We asked if it was alright to stroll around the vineyard and they said no problem. It was a delightful walk around, looking at the vines, of which most were in fruit. I would recommend it any time. However, if you want a guided tour, it's necessary to book several months ahead, but we turned up on the off-chance and almost had the place to ourselves.

Pebblebed Vineyard
With a glass of delicious sparkling rosé in hand, charming winemaker Alex took us on a tour of the vineyards, talked about how they make their award winning sparkling wines while we tasted their other 4 wines, then served up mouth watering charcuterie with another glass of wine. We were the only foreigners" on the tour

The Vine House
Another super break at Vine House during a hot few days in early September. The grapes were ripening nicely and the vineyard looked gorgeous on our morning run around the fields. Everything was cosy & welcoming with treats of food & wine supplied by our kind hosts. The most comfortable beds we’ve found in a cottage and the rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished. There’s a Woodburner for cooler evenings but we enjoyed opening the french windows and having breakfast on the patio. Ofcourse being near the winery is a temptation as the vintages produced are amazing too! The perfect place to chill, but within reach of gastro pubs & sightseeing in Norwich or on the Broads. We’ll be back!
