Surf lifesaving club

This lifeguard hut is in the middle of the beach. Only manned during peak hours.

Fantastic warm and friendly club with totally dedicated coaches who really put their heart and soul into making all members feel part of the team. The club has been established for over 50 years now and the opportunities it provides is second to none.

Amazing - The two life guards that were patrolling Southbourne beach along the Bistro parade right along the stretch of beach about 5 pm on Saturday 2nd August 2014. They attended the scene where my daughter had tripped on the step leading up to beach huts, she was unconscious for a few minutes which was very worrying, the lady lifeguard attended directly to my daughter, she was fantastic, friendly, very approachable & meticulous and thorough and we all felt very confident of her abilities, her colleague was also brilliant. To be on the safe side they called an ambulance and stayed with Drew-harley maintaining regular checks on her condition. We are very greatfull and would like to say thank you again Also as an addition Bournemouth ambulance service were also prompt, friendly & very thorough and discovered some irregularities when they took ECG consequently she was taken to Bournemouth Hospital, the staff were also very professional, friendly and thorough, she seen fairly quickly and given the all clear to be discharged. I certainly rate all involved 5 out of 5 stars!

Great bunch of guys and gals, who keep everyone at the beach safe.

Went with 13 of my friends who all haven’t paddle boarded before so were quite nervous, especially as it was chucking it down with rain. The instructors were so friendly, encouraging and supportive. Will definitely be visiting again if we are in the area.

Firstly just wanted to say a big thank you to yourselves and also to Lauren for my lessons last week - im already craving to get back into the water aft two incredible days where at the end I was standing up on my board and riding the odd waves in here and there.Lauren was awesome, really patient and offered great tips and encouragement that enabled me to progress really quickly and conquer a very real fear of the sea and surfing in it.Cannot recommend Outer Reef enough, really enjoyed my experience and developed really quickly.100% Awesome

Beautiful beach

My daughter and I had a great lesson with Max. He was all you would expect a good instructor to be, informative, helpful, patient and super positive. A great day at Llangenith with the wonderful WSF Surf School. Can’t recommend them enough.

Incredible experience with outer reef. Hired a paddle board for my son so we could go out together for an hour and Ant in the shop was incredibly helpful. We saw Eleanor who works for outer reef when we were out who warned us about the wind coming back and gave us some advice as to where to go. We completely misjudged the time coming back and we were almost an hour over our time but instead of a telling off and extra charge, Eleanor came back out helped tow my son in with me (the winds were strong). An incredible friendly local company with fantastic staff! Thank you so much.
