Excellent day out. We had a fab time exploring all of the space center and doing some of their activities. The Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We will definitely be back for another visit!

Approximately 30 of us went to the Planetarium for an office team building day and it was just wonderful. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the presentation and it was clear how passionate the volunteers were. A huge thank you to John and the other volunteers! We shall definitely return!

An absolutely wonderful experience! The tickets were good value and the surroundings beautiful. Who would have thought my kids would sit through a thirty minute narrated documentary about dark matter? Well, they did and I didn't hear a peep out of them throughout, except the odd wow"! The Planetarium is modern

Pluto (Dwarf Planet - Cycle Path Marker)
This is part of the Cycle the Solar System Cycle Route, the first Cycle Route by Sustrans (who have gone on to build many major routes across the UK).The models are a little tired and grubby but its a great way to get out and active for the day!!The Pluto and Charon Models are a bit hard to find; they aren't on the main cycle route but off of a short diversion from the cycle path. After you pass the last signpost for Neptune/ Pluto the path will take a slight turn to the right, and there will be to the left a narrow footpath heading up a short slope, with hedges either side. At the end of this short path will be the Pluto model. If you have reached the Voyager Model (travelling away from York) then you have missed Pluto and need to turn back.

National Space Centre
Fabulous place with a ton of knowledge.I think it is too much space to cover in one day.Because it was a Bank Day weekend, it seemed a little bit overcrowded at one point.I think next time we visit the place we will do it during the week so it will give us the whole spectrum of emotions.Highly recommend visiting the Planetarium. This was the cherry on the top of the cake for, as we left it for the end of our visit. It was totally worth it.I highly recommend visiting National Space Center

Armagh Observatory and Planetarium
It’s a well maintained place that’s very clear. The staff are 100% dedicated to their job. It’s absolutely spotless except for the toilets on the occasion I went. The seats of the star gazing dome are WAY to close to the front and I found myself with a very sore neck and back.Unfortunately the star gazing event wasn’t good in anyway for the world we live in today as a £10 pair of VR googles and smart phone will deliver a much more interactive experience in the privacy of your own home.I found the graphics to be similar to that of a 2004 PowerPoint presentation in the stargazing event. This is obviously a huge disappointment as I drive 1 hour to be here but I understand this is due to a lack of government funding.I definitely thought improvements would have been made since being here 12 years ago… but unfortunately notIt’s a very small place and not a lot I couldn’t believe I walked around and looked at everything in under 10 minutes.I hope they get funding and a much better projection system and animation's.I know the people of Armagh are very proud of this place and it would be a shame to see foot traffic fall because it’s so behind in technology

Armagh Observatory and Planetarium
A great place for kids to learn about space exploration and astronomy. The dome shows are both entertaining and educational, presented by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of hands-on stuff for kids to have fun with in the exhibition area, including a mini play area for toddlers. Biggee kids will love the rocket-building workshops too (but be prepared to get wet during the process!). The only slight disappointment is the AOP (augmented reality) items in the outdoor display area, which I find quite difficult to operate. Overall a highly enjoyable experience and definitely recommended.
