Joined IPP with a clear career goal and a determination to excel in my role as a Biomedical Scientist. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by a series of concerning incidents. This review is not meant to defame anyone but to highlight the issues I encountered during my tenure. From the outset, it became evident that my manager was reluctant to support my career aspirations. Rather than offering constructive guidance, my probation period was repeatedly extended, ostensibly to hinder my progress in building my portfolio. As a young professional with a clear career path, this was both disheartening and demotivating.Furthermore, on the day my probation was not extended, I was subjected to belittling and demeaning comments from my manager; CT. This not only undermined my confidence but also left me questioning the professional environment I was a part of.One particular instance stands out when I expressed my ambition to become a BMS. Instead of encouragement, my manager interpreted this as a threat and made unfounded assertions about my competence for my current role. This not only displayed a lack of support for career growth but also an unhealthy level of defensiveness.Furthermore, I frequently overheard extremely unprofessional conversations among staff members. These discussions ranged from gossip and personal matters to inappropriate remarks about patients and colleagues. Such behaviour not only tarnishes the reputation of the institution but also undermines the trust and confidence that patients should have in their healthcare providers. It was disheartening to observe at the Christmas dinner that the organisation had planned, all the staff members of colour, including myself, were all placed at one table. While I understand that event planning can be a complex task, it is essential to ensure that all employees dont face micro- aggression. Seating individuals based on their racial or ethnic background inadvertently sends a message of division and exclusion, which goes against the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion that organisation claims to uphold. I am not certain whether this seating arrangement was intentional or inadvertent, but I believe it is essential to address this matter to prevent any future instances of similar occurrences. In addition, I communicated openly about a life long medical condition I just got diagnosed with at that time, which necessitated some time off work as I was getting adjusted to my new daily routines. Regrettably, this was met with disapproval and an unjustifiable complaint about taking too much time" off. It is essential that workplaces show empathy and flexibility towards employees facing health challenges. As a dedicated and career-driven professional

I have been using the labs for the last few years and the service is excellent. Reports and results arrive quicker than any other lab I have ever used and delivered in a secure manner. On the very few times I have had a problem the response has been immediate. Wish all histopathology results could be this quick and accurate.

If you're an aspiring BMS, MLA, AP or a consultant...avoid this lab at all cost!!!Extremely unprofessional when it comes to gossiping and slandering. Management is of a low standards and the BMS's lack basic knowledge and skills required to carry out tests.

I have been using this facility for 6/7 years .Third around time for most of my histology reports were 2 /3 days which was really helpful for my patient management as 90% of those biopsies are to exclude pre cancer or cancer .Very satisfied with your service .

Awful company to work for.The management is unorganised and a massive disadvantage to NHS.One example working as a phlebotomist. I was on a/l, the manager, Toya told the clinic I’d had a car crash. In fact it was an admin/rota error which she refused to admit, and chose to make disgusting, false excusesPatients verbally abuse us all the time and we have no support, we are always working alone in stressful conditions, with only 5 minutes per patient.Patients are treated as a number not an individual, as are all staff.Never recommend to anyone

This department is totally inadequate! Always people standing as well as those seated. What's it going to be like when the occupants of all the flats and houses being built in Stevenage need it? Some of the Nurses could be a little more pleasant too!
