Modern izakaya restaurant

I'm here to share my recent experience at Dinings, and, truth be told, it was a bit of a letdown. Even though the food was fantastic, the overall treatment and service were far from satisfactory.So, we had a reservation for 9:15. Things took a nosedive when the last order was called just 30 minutes in, before we even got all our food. Then, to top it off, the bill was handed to us without asking, and we felt like we were on a time crunch, hustled out the door by 10:45.For a substantial payment of £300 for two people, the rushed service was undeniably unacceptable. We had anticipated a significantly higher level of service at this price point. The food might have been a highlight, jet the overall experience fell short of our expectations.I'm sharing this review in the hopes that Dinings takes it as constructive feedback and works on improving the overall dining experience for future guests.

We came here just for dessert but we will definitely be back for dinner or lunch one day. The French toast with match ice cream is sublime, I would definitely recommend coming to try it. We came again and got the prawn Sando too which was lovely and crunchy. It is a shame that the restaurant is super hot and it smells outside.

Best japanese restaurant I’ve been! Mind blowing food

We dined here last Sunday evening after deciding we wanted something different to the usual. We chose a seat at the bar overlooking the kitchen so we could watch the action. We were in for a treat! The service was fantastic, the kitchen staff were friendly and the food was fantastic! (Funnily enough, as two unashamed meat lovers, our favourite dish was the aubergine!) The only fault, that caused us to cut the evening short, was an over-friendly, single, male customer who became too touch-feely and constantly interrupted our conversation. Next time we'd ask to move spots but we will definitely return as the restaurant is great!

Delicious and inventive Japanese food. The truffle miso aubergine was so good, we ordered seconds! Everything we had was fantastic.We were there celebrating with friends and brought a bottle of champagne. Unfortunately the server didn’t seem very experienced in serving champagne and quite a bit was wasted due to bubbling over and spilling. The service was otherwise good and friendly.The desserts were a bit of a let-down. I love truffles as much as the next person but don’t think they need to be in everything!

The flavour of the food at Yatay was good and very tasty. The atmosphere and look of the venue was also nice however the portions are on the small side compared to how much you are paying. Aside from that, the service was quite bad and felt the waiter was abrupt at times when asking where our food was. Our dishes came all at different times and my sides came at least 30 minutes after my main. I won't be visiting again.

Yatay is a new Japanese restaurant on Wardour that replaced Ichibuns. It seems to be an improvement on what was there before. The food was really good. I enjoyed everything we ordered. Unfortunately service wasn’t up to the same standard and dishes came out slowly as another party was there. We had to ask for the same things a number of times, e.g. water and help with sorting out our wobbly table (we asked for both things at least 3 times). I enjoyed the food so much that I’m really hoping the service was a one-time issue, as I would like to go back.

Recommended!Must haves include their wings and French toast! Service was fast and speedy, Kudos to the staff as we were in a big group! Atmosphere was nice - it's centrally located and lots of other customers also enjoying their meal. They have a theatre menu too that we've had before - convenient if you're seeing The Cursed Child nearby!

Service good and nice interior - used to love it here. Now they are banking on their appearance and no substance or quality. On my most recent visit it was perhaps the worst ramen I’ve ever had? Noodles all lumped together. Laughable.
