Spent 28 days here in 1966 came out a different person and as fit as a butchers dog. Great experience, but I wouldn’t want to go back it was tough in the sixties.

When the motorway was being built, my wife and myself had to leave it and detour via side roads. Jet planes flew regularly and noisily overhead, their landing lights on. One night, in the pitch black, we saw in the distance what looked like a helicopter sideways on. Then it flew slowly overhead.It was a round UFO, with a purple beam rotating around it's rim. It had no markings on it but was lit up. We were in a convoy of cars, all of whom slowed down.
