The Community Room, Friends Meeting House, 126 Hampton Rd, Redland, Bristol BS6 6JE
Welcome to Bristol, Stroud and Dorchester Shambhala meditation groups. We are a community of meditation practitioners and we offer a space for all who wish to come and share their experiences of everyday life and discover how meditation can support that. We offer meditation instruction to those who would like it, but people can bring their own practices and sit and practice with us. Shambhala is about inclusivity and diversity is welcomed so people can relax with who they are and come to experience their innate nature as basic goodness. We look forward to seeing you at one of our weekly sessions.

The Now Project
I have just read another review from the same weekend retreat that I did and my experience was very, very different… Intense indeed – I sobbed twice – for which I was and am deeply - deeply grateful. I have long been aware that I have been unable to cry, even though I wanted to - instead was wrapped in armour. I didn’t mind being upset - I was glad - both because I wanted and needed that release and because we had been warned it might happen, reassured it was ok, that we were ok and even why they wouldn’t ‘comfort us’ in the traditional way; although in fact Steve was going round the room really caring for us all and holding - emotionally - those who were upset. I felt that - I was one of them. During the most intense Emotional Clearing Meditation on Sunday both Ade & Steve touched base with me to check if I was ok, or if I wanted to slow down, as it was so intense for me.I found both Gong Baths very powerful too - I had only done one thing mildly like this 10 years ago.The first night felt less comfortable but still absorbing; mostly I thought because we were new to the weekend. By the 2nd evening having got to know everyone else more and done more Mindfulness I felt really free to be totally immersed. I was very awake and aware all through and it was the start for me of (trauma release) arm jerks, which I had already experienced for 5 years, becoming free flowing arm movements – a fantastic, beautiful and I’m sure healing experience.I thought all the folk leading this course were so well placed to; they are honest about the deep pain and trauma they have gone through and in healing themselves, who better to help others with their open hearts? I thought all of them were so generous towards us whether it be delicious food, full on workouts by them in the Gong Baths or sharing individual feedback and suggestions to look beyond the course. As the mother to adopted sons with complex/developmental trauma – I have read nearly all there is to read on this. I have both witnessed & experienced deeply, trauma trapped in the body. I have painfully witnessed the addictions and self-medication. I realise I have childhood trauma too and I was so grateful to release some of that – as I have tried in so many other ways, but never accessed such deep cleansing. I know and feel I have more work to do, but count myself lucky to have fallen into this particular retreat with Ade, Steve, Simon & Chris, who made me feel safe, emotional (yay! at last!) and ultimately more hopeful, creative and buzzing.

Invisible Caims -Shamanism, Numerology, Yoga, Coaching
Giada has been extremely kind, well- informed and helpful in my dealings with Invisible Caims. I received extensive advice which was authentic and detailed. I am enchanted with the accuracy of the information and would not hesitate to recommend Invisible Caims to others. My experience with Giada has enriched my spiritual awareness and offered me a great deal of knowledge to advance self- development. 10/10. Thank you ! :)

CUTWALK
I was absolutely appalled by the treatment I received by my hairdresser. I had been here before, about a year ago, and had a wonderful experience by a lovely young lady (forgot her name but she had red hair and was really kind). I decided to go back for some new highlights but the only person available for my booking was a man, I think he's Greek, I didn't catch his name, (but he had big hair and facial hair too,) and omg he was the absolute rudest, most vile person I've ever encountered. First he started the session by asking what I wanted, but he seemed confused by some words I was using so I tried explaining again, then he got irate and frustrated with me and basically yelled at me telling me what I wanted wasn't possible with my hair. He was so loud and rude, other customers were staring and I was absolutely humiliated. I didn't know what to do as I'm not a confrontational person so I told him to forgo the highlights and just cut and blow-dry instead. I told him how much to cut but then he cut more than I wanted, about 3 extra inches off which made a huge difference as my hair is naturally curly so it looks shorter when dried. I told him he cut too much and he again started yelling at me. And I mean he was LOUD. I've never in my life been treated this way before and was so incredibly humiliated, and what bothered me more was that none of the other workers stepped in and told him to calm down and stop yelling at his customer! I didn't stay for my blow dry, I paid (and like a fool even tipped him which he absolutely didn't deserve but I'm a push over most of the time) and left in tears. I will absolutely never ever return to cutwalk and I've already warned some friends about going there. I'm appalled and shocked that they could hire and keep someone so disgusting, rude and unprofessional and even more disgusted that they didn't tell him to stop while he was yelling at me.

Mindful Surrey UK Mindfulness
During out first lockdown in Australia early last year, the stress caused my BP to rise dramatically, and I wanted a solution other than more BP meds.I heard of Catherine through a friend and signed up for the 8 week Mindfulness course. Catherine was very obliging accommodating for the time difference between the UK and East Coast of Australia.I'm very pleased to say that within a few weeks of starting the course I was able to drop back to my precovid levels of BP meds and I knew I was managing the stress way better. When we went into our second 3 and half month lockdown with her teachings and weekly drop ins my stress levels were manageable.I can highly recommend the drop in and the course.

Francesco provided me with amazing support in key areas which I wanted to address, particularly around anxiety. Francesco instils calmness and explains everything thoroughly - I found this extremely useful when applying the tools he showed me, as I understood the logic. The techniques used by Francesco are highly effective. Francesco is a warm and caring individual and has helped me a lot with life challenges and my personal development!

Whitespace Yoga & Wellbeing Studio
I love Whitespace. I started attending classes here in January 2015. The past few years had been tough and I was looking for a place to find more balance in my life through yoga. I found it here. From the moment you walk through the door, you feel better. Whitespace Studio is small enough to be friendly and personal, but it has a very big heart and a big choice of teachers and yoga styles. I have found every teacher to be fantastic and I feel so much better. Classes are very supportive and encouraging and really do attract people of all ages and from all walks of life. I recommend it highly.
