The canal stretch is easy to reach and is a popular coarse fishery. Pike, perch, roach and bream are abundant. There are good fishing opportunities during high flow conditions on the river. Roach/bream hybrid specimens can be caught. Pike weighing up to 14kg have been recorded.

St Andrews Pier
The pier is very pretty only slightly detracted by the fishy smell that seems to follow you everywhere. There is a small café which sells simple meals and snacks. The beach nearby is similarly pleasant with a park not too far away. The pier has some fantastic character and is a great place for a day out if you happen to be nearby.

Great beaches nearby and a perfect day out for the family. Lovely views out to sea. I would definitely recommend it to visiting families nearby who want a day out in the summer. The beaches stretch a long way so it is perfect for a walk along the beach.
