Cha chaan teng (Hong Kong-style cafe)

It was my first time eating at this restaurant and was not disappointed. The staff were welcoming, warm & professional, with helpful suggestions for food and drinks. The waitress Roni went above and beyond. I recommend the Soba Noodles with Karaage and salad, which was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious.I really enjoyed the food and will definitely be coming back.

We had take away experience few times and thought give it a try to eat in. It is a HongKong style from the decoration till the food. We had 1 starter, 2 main dishes and 1 meat dishes to share and it was plenty for 2 people. So many options on their menu!It was alright overall but the only struggle for us was that the waiter who served us seems don’t speak fluent English at all. All the staff are polite in attitude way but seems lacking of restaurant experience. I can understand that the majority of their clients speak Cantonese but it would be a much better eat in experience if there is no language barrier.

Food was alright but the service was far below average. I don’t understand why there is a service charge when they have no service at all. One of the server (quite senior) didn’t seem nice and wasn’t happy that I ate there on my own. I guess he prefers a group of four so he can have more income each table. I do not recommend anyone who comes here on his own. Many other options in Chinatown and needn’t come to this one

Had an amazing pumkin spice late! it was fantastic also really enjoyed the croffle (crousant waffle) was delicious. Really friendly.

Very lovely chinese food that taste like actual chinese food. Taiwanese beef noodle is a must try, the beef is braised so nicely it’s soft and melt in your mouth. Also the hong kong style milk tea is a must, this style of milk tea is so common in Asia but it’s so hard to find in UK. This is the only shop around Manchester that does not skimp on the tea and the milk! It’s a strong tea and very creamy, the best kind of milk tea, none of that watered down stuff you usually get. Having tried many places in Manchester, I have to say this is the only one that I really enjoy and would go again and again!

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE DURING LUNCH, DONT VISIT! After we ordered our food, we patiently waited but our order was forgotten hence we were just watching others after us all receiving their food whilst we sat there with an empty table. And after raising the issue with staff, they seemed to have no idea what is going on and proceed to not do anything. After half an hour of waiting, we are then told most of our food and drinks haven't even started cooking, all we received in over 30 minutes are 1 bowl of fish ball and 1 of our drinks. We finally lost our patience and decide to leave and asked for refund. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE UNLESS YOH HAVE AN EMPTY SCHEDULE THAT DAY BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED THE TIME.

We were attracted to this place because they do traditional Hong Kong snacks and desserts, so we gave it a try.Lovely decor and friendly service.We ordered Red Bean Ice 港式紅豆冰 (£2.90), Bean Curd Pudding 山水豆腐花 (£2.50) and Palmiers 鬆脆蝴蝶餅仔 (£2.50).Loved it! The Red Bean Ice was nostalgic for my dad. He said the flavours were authentic.I enjoyed having the Bean Curd Pudding - silky with mildly sweet syrup. The portion seemed small but it was actually quite filling.The Palmiers were crispy and they weren't too sweet either.Will be back for more.

I visited my sisters in Hull the other day. They told me there is a newly opened chinese takeaway in their neighbourhood which specialises in authentic Hong Kong style food.. I visited the takeaway and ordered the beef brisket with noodle. I have to say the meat is really tender and they tasted fantastic, on a par with food in Hong Kong. This particular takeaway offers many other enticing dishes and delicacies which I just cannot try all in one go, but I have a good feeling that I will be back soon,, probably for the claypot rice dish which is my favourite.
