Canterbury Pottery
I gave one star just because the shop has lovely pottery bowls and ceramics, otherwise the lady there was so rude, I felt so unwelcomed there, and I got rejected in a very rude way. I went there to buy some pots and to ask if I can take a look at the workshop as am doing a pottery project at uni, but then the lady instead of saying sorry we're too busy at the moment to let you in, just said absolutely NO" when I showed interest and asked about taking a look around

We discovered this lovely little shop over the Christmas period and they have some beautiful, affordable pottery for sale. All of which makes for perfect gifts. Would highly recommend as the products are great quality! We bought two of the noodle bowls and they are fantastic

I recently asked Canterbury Pottery to remake a Communion Plate for a church in Eastbourne, which had been dropped and shattered. Canterbury Pottery had made the original one many years ago. I forwarded details and a photo of the remaining one, (There were two the same) and measurements, and within two weeks a replacement arrived. Absolutely perfect in every way! What an amazing company! I was so delighted and relieved. Thank you Canterbury Pottery. Definitely 10 out of 10 for customer care, courtesy and production. Recommend Canterbury Pottery to anyone anywhere!

This place is fabulous, the selection of exquisite pottery is extensive with unusual and beautiful pieces, some of which are unique. Have bought pieces here for many years now, never disappointed. They are happy for you to commission pieces and I strongly recommend you look at their Halloween and Christmas pieces when they come out. Where else do you find a family run pottery with the artistic flare of Canterbury Pottery, it's a must to visit.

A fantastic experience. Bought some lessons for my other half as a present, not knowing quite what to expect. However Joanne was amazing from the moment we walked in, and we had a great day. We made some posts, and got a shot on the pottery wheel (the attached disaster photo was my effort!), but there were lots of other options.I would heartily recommend this to anyone who wants to do something a bit different.

I have bought a few items from the Canterbury pottery. Each item is very well made and has gone down a storm as gifts. I ordered some items for Christmas, the package arrived on time and the gifts were very well packaged.

Canterbury Pottery
Absolutely beautiful pottery. Their wares look really beautiful in any kitchen and on any dining table - we always get compliments about our plates and chicken egg basket. I asked if they could make me a custom jar with a sheep handle and they readily did so - they even did two versions in case I didn't like the first one, which had a slightly smaller handle. Lovely service in the shop and it's fun to watch the owner make the pottery while you're there. The main reason we now come to Canterbury is to visit - highly recommend!

My mother wanted to get us a house warming gift and decided to go to Canterbury Pottery where she has been going to for years to get a plaque done. After being told it would be 4 weeks when it went past that she phoned only to be told the guy doing it has dropped it and it had to be done again, accidents happen but it was explained that the guy doing it doesn’t have feeling in his fingers and agreed to do it again. My mother went to pick it up the redone plaque and was very disappointed with the sun standard work, the glaze was black when we were shown it would be dark brown and had run down the lettering for £90 my mother did not want to pay for something that was poorly done and asked for her deposit back. The shop said if you would like it done again just call. My mother told me the news about the plaque which we had been looking forward to having on our new home and I decide let’s give them another chance so I called them to ask if we could and the lady I spoke to said ‘we are not prepared to do it’ ‘they take time and we have your mother her money back’ ‘No!’ ‘ I don’t want to’ after being shocked about this rude response I did explain it was fair that my mother didn’t pay for substandard work and that she was being very rude, the lady cut me off bid me farewell and hung up. Safe to say we will not be purchasing anything from this shop again which is a shame. The plaques in the window are around 10 years old so if you’d like to see recent work I’d ask for it as you may end up in the same situation as us.
