Exeter Ship Canal
To many cyclists who think they are in tour de Britain apart from that it's a cracking place. Great for walks, fishing and boating.

Manchester Ship Canal
2018 Had a Journey on the Manchester Ship Canal Cruise Seacombe Terminal Spaceport to Manchester, Hours and hours of past 25 Bridges/Viaducts and Locks. Great for a long relaxing trip if the weather is fine like it was for us. you can sit at front or back or inside but we found it hard to find a seat at the front of the cruise as too many passengers very full. You can buy Food and drinks on the cruise but we took our own. I could not sit still all the journey had to take photos of every think. great journey just wish it did not have loads of coach loads of tourists this time.

Ripon Canal
Lovely walk from the centre of Ripon past the Race course winding along the canal through three locks before reaching the start of the river. If you’re lucky may see a Heron or even an Otter!

Lancaster Canal
Over 40 miles of lock free canal. Water levels are currently quite low and the section above Lancaster canal has a few narrow sections due to the reeds and low water levels.

The Gloucester and Sharpness Canal
Miles of beautiful (and wide) canal stretching from the heart of the city, running parallel to the River Severn for several miles before joining it at Sharpness docks. The canal offers great, easy walking and cycling, superb coarse and predator fishing with most coarse fish available as well as specimen Zander, Perch and Pike (£4 day tickets available in local tackle shops and on the bank). Lots of wildlife can be spotted or heard, including Kingfishers, Heron, Bittern, Crane and many other wildfowl.... The canal passes Slimbridge Wildfowl trust so presents plenty of Birdspotting opportunities. I've also seen Mink and Otter on the canal. With the City at one end and several pubs, cafés, canal trips and boat hires, along the route there really is a lot to enjoy here.
