Called in here after a lovely meal at Palmito's nearby. Had never been here before, and on arrival it was clear that the cheese and charcuterie areas were closed. Drinks were still available however (it was not long after 8 pm). Told a pleasant and helpful barman that we would like to share a bottle of wine. He supplied a wine list and when we asked for a dark red" (and explained that we didn't really understand wine terminology) he said he would go and ask David who we assumed was the manager. Rather than David coming over to speak to us or help in any way

Recently visited this establishment on my latest visit to Brighton & Hove, due to a recommendation from friends. Loved the choice of cheeses and charcuterie. On a whim, decided to stay and get a table to sample their wares with a nice bottle of wine. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening - ideal for my girlfriends and I to have a catch up over a small bite to eat.

The staff here were cold, contemptuous, and bordered on rude when my partner and I visited. We are in our late 20s and it was obvious to both of us that the staff looked down their nose at us based on our age and appearance, as other customers who were older than us were given a different level of service. We have pledged never to go back. Do not recommend.Edit: this was in the Hove store, earlier this year.

First visit....Nice wine, Cheese portions a little on the small side. The chutney was delicious, we asked for more as again the portion was a little on the small side. The bread and crackers portion is perfect.It's fairly expensive. The tables are quite close to each other,( too close for my liking.) considering the covid regulations.The service is knowledgeable, though both waiters spoke very fast when describing the cheese and wines listed on the Menu. The service seemed rather stiff and formal, but maybe some people might like that. I'll definitely give it another try and hope the formality from the staff mellows like a good friendly wine and cheese portions become little more generous.

We were very excited to receive a birthday gift voucher to go to curds and whey So in February we had a late lunch, this was our cheese and meat board with lots of bread! it was £30 we were disappointed and the wine was very expensive too!! our first visit not great!

Great wine selection with the staff always willing to support you selecting the correct one. Better to eat something in advance if you are hungry, their speciality is on the wine side not in the food side (which is expected).

It is a lovely place and the waiters are friendly. We had 2 kirs and some nibbles and everything was delicious. We went there another time inside and it was equally good. Recommended.
