I had a new hip replacement on the 9th of March 2019 expertly performed by Mr. Mathew Oakley.Thanks to him, he has given me my life back, by enhancing my physical quality of life and now I am ten years younger because of him.From consultation, right through to my final follow-up, Mr Oakley had always kept me informed through every stage, and was nothing but reassuring, considerate, understanding and professional throughout. He is truly a very skillful surgeon and also a lovely person.Thank you once again Mr. Oakley for taking away all my pain and the associated disability that came with it. I am now enjoying life again.

Mr Oakley is the best. He has been so very patient with me, and after many years of procrastinating on my part I underwent a TKR in March this year at the Nuffield. I was first seen by Mr.Oakley with pain and lack of mobility due to osteoarthritis in my left hip.He suggested a total hip replacement and gave me a date for the operation. Everything was explained fully and time was given to answer my questions. I asked to be on the cancellation list and went into the Nuffield 2 weeks early. I was given all the information I needed by Mr.Oakley, the anaesthetist and the nursing staff. Everyone was very professional and I received excellent care. The operation was very successful and I much appreciate the skill of the surgical team. I saw Mr.Oakley the next day and he explained the additional repair work that he did during the operation. The post-operative nursing care and physiotherapy was of a very high standard.I am making an excellent recovery and cannot praise the surgical and nursing staff highly enough for their skill, care and attention and professionalism. I always felt that I could access extra help and information if I needed reassurance. The whole process was a very positive experience including the ongoing follow-up care. After having a serious traffic incident and initial surgery on the NHS i was then referred to the the Nuffield in Hereford for reconstructive surgery. Where I was more than fortunate to be under the care and guidance of Mr Oakley, he was extremely professional in his overall view and made my expectations clear from the start. After undergoing more than a few surgeries by Mr Oakley, from metal removal and replacement too femoral realignment and a partial knee replacement to name a few. I am back on my feet enjoying life again and back doing what I love most, hill walking across the Malverns and back riding my bike. I cannot stress how much I would recommend Mr Oakley, he has given me back my freedom, my ability to do the things I love and above all my mental state. I owe him a great deal of gratitude.
