This is a great Kung Fu school. Lessons are always well thought out and informative and demonstrate practical applications of the martial art in a fun and enjoyable way. John is a great teacher who is really supportive of his students’ progress. I’m looking forward to continuing my training at the academy.

I’ve been training in Southern Shaolin Kung Fu at the Mousavi Martial Arts Academy for two years now, and can vouch for John as a welcoming and knowledgeable instructor to learn from.John’s energetic approach to teaching creates an enjoyable atmosphere, without distracting the focus from the learning objectives.Something I most value when learning under John is his ability to conceptualise what you’re learning into realistic situations, leading you to consider how you may react, and what alternatives are available. In this way the different aspects of the syllabus are drawn together in a manner that aids learning through practical application, and becomes a more wholesome experience.I'm looking forward to continuing my training at JC Kung Fu Academy and am sure it will be a successful venture for John.

My 9 year old son has been attending these lessons with John for the last couple of years. He is very happy with the teacher, his mates and the facilities. As a dad, I feel lucky to have found such a great supportive teacher, who is very passionate about passing his knowledge and skills on to the next generation of kids. I also admire the teacher’s constant support, availability and help for his students to progress into this discipline, by making his lessons very approachable and children friendly.

Best place for my two daughters. John and his whole staff are great, they are very understanding and caring. It's not just a school where the kids can learn self defense but it also teaches focus, confidence, self respect and the reasoning behind the moves is always explained, they're not just ballet steps. Loving the approach and the methods.

John leads the session with clarity of instruction and time given to all members of the group. My son is challenged by coordination, but time is given by the assistants and the leader to allow my child to participate and feel an active member of the group without holding others up. It’s a really good mix of boys and girls and provides each member with a good respect and skill for the discipline. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to join.

Jon Clark delivers an excellent 5 star worthy experience being very knowledgeable in the art and as a teacher.Training at the Academy has been very rewarding journey that I and my daughter thoroughly enjoy.

I have been training with John almost every week for the past four months. Having tried a few different classes and styles of Kung Fu recently, John's classes have really clicked. He is a masterful professional, with a warm but 'no nonsense' attitude, who takes pains to foster respect and humility amongst his students. He clearly cares for and wants his students to progress, and shares with us his deep love of the art form. Many of his students have been progressing rapidly and John is keen to put forward students for grading if they so choose. Bear in mind I am a 53 woman in her early thirties- so the class is open to anyone wanting to learn!"

John delivers easy to learn lessons in a perfect blend of traditional and modern kung fu, the lessons are fun and informative and would highly recommend experienced martial artists and those wanting to try it out. Would give a 6th star if I could!

John is a super skilled as well as good teacher with much to offer and always giving it his best. Super friendly environment and John always knows how to have a good lesson. Highly recommend
