A bittersweet review as the location, grounds, food and drink was superb however the service was inconsistent. Amazing service whilst checking in and throughout the evening however there was a lot of quibble the next morning over room rates / room occupancy which really put a dampner on our stay. We spent a lot of money on dinner , drinks and the room itself so didn't expect to be greeted in the morning with such computer says no" attitude. All in all a good stay though

Booked for a meal, unfortunately our starters, Devilled Kidneys, came out undercooked. Taken back and returned cooked properly although the toast they were returned on was then only half a slice. Saying that they were nice and the rest of the meal was good. Overall a nice evening.

By far my favourite pub in the area, always welcoming, great selection of drinks and the food is always outstanding. Great for walkers and cyclists as it's a stones throw from the Southdowns way.

Stayed one night on a business trip.Staff really friendly and helpful, pub and accommodation were great. The accommodation was in a converted building behind the pub, which has been done really well, very comfortable and quiet. Little touches like fresh milk for the tea and coffee were nice.Breakfast was exceptional.Overall, fantastic find, highly recommended

Enjoyed a fantastic stay with a large group staying in various rooms in the charming outbuilding this weekend. We found the staff to be incredibly helpful and friendly and were flexible about a later check in for one room. The rooms were cosy, beautifully furnished and comfortable. The lavender-lined green outside our rooms was so pretty and a lovely place to sit and chat. Highly recommend a visit; thank you to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Called in here on our way home from Gatwick to have a drink and dinner. Drinks were lime and sodas, most we ever paid each, was £1.50 for 2 small glasses, here £3.00 each! Meals were over priced and on top of was a 12% service charge. Worst of all was all the time we were eating we had to put up with the manager having a heated meeting with a member of staff. Very unprofessional and embarrassing for us trying to have a quiet meal. We will never go back there again. Avoid.

Stayed here for a wedding last weekend and had the most impeccable service. Modern and cosy rooms and the best breakfast ever!
