I had a wonderful experience with the staff and everything else from start to finish when I had my baby 4 years ago.I'm expecting again and I don't need to think twice before choosing to have my antenatal appointments there again. All the midwifes I had the pleasure to meet there were brilliant, professional and caring.Excellent service

From the reception started professional work and care until the end of the next person you meet, they are remarkable and smart and hard working team . I like their team work, even as individuals they perform well day and night. I had my first child last year and my second this year. I can not thank them enough for their efforts that they gave me, all the care needed.Thank you Princess Royal maternity !

I gave birth to my first child here this month (July 2021). Myself and my baby boy were both so well looked after. All of the staff were really professional, supportive and helpful. I was nervous about giving birth but the midwives and doctors made me feel safe and helped me to have a really positive experience.

I have just had my 4th baby here and can’t thank the antenatal staff, ward 72 staff and the postnatal team staff for all of their care. In particular, Lisa & Heather, midwives on ward 72 were amazing. If it hadn’t been for both of them, my labour experience would have been really rough. The staff here work really hard, care for their patients and do it fantastically.Thank you very much from myself and baby Charlie.

Horrible experience on the birth of my second baby in this hospital with my first I had such a great experience with the hospital but unfortunately the second time was just absolutely horrible at 4pm 04/10/2023 waited an hour for a bed to be induced just for someone else to come in and wait 5 minutes they ended up getting my room then I had to wait another 10 minutes just for them to chuck me in with girls in early pregnancy that weren’t well I was getting contractions every 4 minutes from 3 o’clock in the morning 05/10/2023 I couldn’t help but cry out in pain I was so embarrassed there was no dignity or privacy in my labour whatsoever nor was I getting the right pain relief they kept giving me morphine and codine what was clearly not helping and all they had to say that I’ve done it before I can put up with it again this was my second baby girl and in this pregnancy I was more scared than I was in my first for labour as this time I knew what was coming I was so scared for it n had been all through my pregnancy and yous made sure it was a living hell for me I was in Labour from 3am and gave birth at 13:07 I didn’t get taken to the labour ward nor get any gas and air until the last 10 minutes of my labour I needed the gas and air hours before that and they kept giving me medication that even they knew wouldn’t work for my contractions I cried for hours people had their kids visiting in the ward and even the kid where getting scared because of it as said where was the dignity I wouldn’t even allow my child to see or here me like that n they poor women had no choice because yous had me in the wrong ward I felt like I was literally getting laughed at for hours they told me that it wouldn’t be long that I would get the gas and air and I didn’t get it until I was crowning because of their neglect I then gave birth to my baby girl who was blue and kept being sick she was also shivering the first 5 days of her life when she was first born I was so worried they kept telling me it was normal and it wasn’t we got discharged when she was 24 hours old and then ended up admitted again on her 5th day of life she had lost over 14% of her weight due to the sickness that they said was normal they told me it was good she was being sick because it was her getting rid of all her mucus she also had low oxygen levels she ended up in a incubator attached to heart monitors oxygen support and all sorts if the midwife on the 5th day hadn’t of noticed my daughter could have ended up dead she also took and infection of me that I had since I was pregnant and needed antibiotics aswell as me I was so heartbroken to see my daughter the way she was she should have been put in a incubator when she was first born but all yous kept saying that she was normal what me and my poor baby had to go through was just horrible I’m so traumatised with this was such a scary experience with my baby and such a horrible experience with my induction I certainly will never be back here and don’t advise anyone to get there maternity care here so unprofessional it’s like you have a bunch of school girls working as midwives people that we are meant to trust with our dignity I would put 0 star if I could and this is coming from someone who is only 21 years old so I’m not exactly that old myself

I waited two hours to be checked by the doctor today. My appointment was at 2pm i waiting until 4 pm with my toddler daughter. Seating in the chair im 32 weeks pregnant. The doctor said is normal to wait for two hours which was quite shocking. I couldn’t wait to leave and never go back.

I was treated here due to unfortunate miscarriage last year. I was sent to the A&E after 3 hours bleeding non stop waiting for an ambulance to arrive. Almost die. Though the hospital was understaffed at that time, the medical team there were very positive, proactive and attentive. They helped save my life and not enough words to express how grateful i am.

I would highly recommend the Princess Royal Maternity.I have given birth here 9 years ago to my little girl and just recently December 2021 to my little boy. The care that myself and my babies received during our time at the Maternity hospital was outstanding. All the staff that looked after myself and my babies where Angles and I truly can't thank them all enough for the care that we received.I also found the hospital and Maternity ward very clean and the staff took pride in ensuring that the cleaning was done to a high standard.
