Denton Handyman and Construction

Had a badly dripping garden tap and a slightly dripping kitchen tap so thought I would find a handyman for what was a simple job for someone with the necessary tools. I contacted what I thought was a local 'handiman' who came promptly, started the work and when the taps were removed I naively asked the cost, only to find I was paying £100 for the first hour plus a callout fee plus parts which turned out to be excessively priced. I was in hole as he had started the work. I told him I thought the quote was excessive but needed the job done so he completed the job.In the end he did cancel the callout fee (I did in fact pay him handsomely for the job) as there was no alternative at that stage.I understand a workman is worthy of his pay but it is usual not to have to pay callout fees if the customer proceeds with the job. I thought I was getting a handman not a plumber.If you just want a handyman beware you are not paying plumbers rates.

I needed to fix the doors of my cabinet and Denton Handyman and Construction saved the day. Very efficient, knowledgeable and crafty. Our cabinet doors look new and the price is reasonable. I am recommending them to everyone.

I'm honestly baffled by the positive reviews of this company. I would 0 stars if I could! We asked them to plane the top of a door so it would shut properly without sticking and wall-mount a TV. The guy then spent 1.5 hours gouging a large chunk out of the top of our door with a chisel (without taking the door off) and fastened the TV to the wall in such a way that the plug socket shows (socket had been positioned deliberately to be hidden by the TV). When we complained about it being too high and not hiding the plug, they said we should have specifically asked for that and wanted to charge us a further £60 to fix it. They did offer to come back to take some more off the door, but we honestly didn't want anyone so incompetent anywhere near our property again. They refused to give us a refund and were unconcerned that we were unhappy or that they had damaged our property. Another company came and fixed the TV to the wall in 10 minutes. Avoid Denton Handyman and Construction like the plague.

Wanted £150 just to clean guttering when told price was not acceptable made my mother feel very uncomfortable trying to presure her into having the work done.

I reached out to him at 9pm one evening and by 5pm the next day my services were complete! he was friendly, accommodating and met me at my condo to complete my necessary services. the vanity mirror in the bathroom had come loose from the wall and he secured the mirror...relieving my stress. will certainly use Denton Handyman and Construction again for future handyman services.
