Oakengates Delivery Office

staff are pleasant enough when you go in but I've just had a red card through the door but it doesn't state where my 2 parcels are, back to the depot? with a neighbour or in a safe place. It's pouring with rain and I doubt the mail van will be back at the depot by now.What is the point, there could be 2 packages with a neighbour who have gone out or it could be in my bins at the front getting soaked in the rain.Now I will have to drive down to the office and hope it is there. Absolute waste of time and they wonder why all the other delivery companies are hammering them down. Can't even fill a card in.

newport deliveries getting worse, mail being delivered once a week by the looks of it, get no mail on a daily basis like i used to but now get a load delivered in one go, no good when i work from home

Popped in a few times to collect parcels which I’d missed. Staff have been friendly, efficient and always followed procedure by asking for ID. Don’t want my parcels ending up on the wrong hands.As for the posties, they’re usually pretty good. Had a few letters delivered for a different address, and also had neighbours bring round my post which they’ve received before. Not too much of a problem - mistakes happen. Recently I received a letter for a neighbour, however the postie realised her mistake and posted a note through after. She also apologised and checked I had passed it on the day after. Lovely!I would say I’m not happy with the advertising leaflets which come through the door. I don’t have a problem with them per se, but we always get them delivered twice; a load one day and then the same leaflets the day after. This has been happening for years. So wasteful as they all end up in the recycling.

Absolutely disgusting service.Why would you not ring a persons doorbell? There was a car on my drive and I have my Ring Doorbell footage of you just pushing a card through without even trying to contact me. The first time I was in the house, today I wasn't but again they didn't ring my doorbell and they just shoved another card through. Why can't they do their job? How can you not know how to ring a doorbell? No attempt to leave with or try my neighbour who's door is next to mine as instructed either. Absolutely dire service and I won't be ordering from any company that uses Royal Mail anymore. Its bad enough they have to come onto my property and treat my post with such disrespect as it is. The fact that they know I can see what they are doing is even more unforgivable.

Nice of the sorting office to reduce its collection opening times from 8am to 10am on weekdays but not put that information anywhere except on the gate when you arrive. Both Google and the Royal Mail website states it is open until 2pm. Getting their act together to update these would mean the dozen plus people alone that turned up on their lunch break the same time I did to find it closed wouldn’t have had a wasted trip. Pretty poor service. You’re making it more difficult all the time for working people to get their deliveries.

Most the staff are friendly enough but due to strikes and completely awful opening hours, I almost lost a parcel I ordered almost a month ago because 'I didn't show up'.

Hi, numerous times over the past few years I have had letters posted through my door that are in fact for a different address. A parcel was delivered today and after my girlfriend took delivery of it, it transpires that it wasn’t for me after all but in fact was for this address down the road. Please can you ask your postmen in future to actually read the address before posting it please? This is a fundamental and simple task which I would have expected postman can easily fulfil or is it????

Royal Mail are awful. I always dread seeing courier - Royal Mail whenever I order something offline. Because I know it’s going to be a nightmare to get that parcel. My parcel has been late because of the strikes & yesterday they pushed a card through to say I wasn’t in although both my neighbours were! It’s now gone back to the sorting office which is a 20 minute drive away. Only to pull up today to find it’s closed due to strikes!! Absolutely sick to death of Royal Mail. The worst courier service by far. Even presumed I’m not in a few weeks back because my car was at the garage & instead of knocking pushed a card through saying I wasn’t in! Thank god for ring door bells I thought I was going mad. Another trip to the sorting office! Thank you for making life difficult when it really doesn’t need to be :)
