Lovely meal, great staff. Plenty of information about the food.We had oysters to start, then a venison and a scallop starter, all were excellent but the scallops were is a corn soup which was amazing.For mains I had the halibut in a bread and butter sauce with basil oil. My parter had venison. These were both very good but the halibut was particularly great.Nice bottle of rose. All came to around £140 plus tip.Looks they update their menu very regularly. Would happily go back.

We had a lovely experience visiting Fish & Forest for dinner.The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the food was top notch. Some really unusual dishes and stunning flavours/textures. Really interesting wine list too with some lovely natural wines.Really busy buzzy atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal here for my Wife's birthday. The small but perfect menu had us savouring every option and wavering with indecision, much to the team's amusement. We could not have been happier with the delicious food, delivered with fantastic, friendly, and professional service.The bonus prosecco for my wife's birthday was a lovely and unexpected touch as well. Thanks guys, we will be back!

Really delicious food beautifully cooked.It’s a small menu but a good choice for meat lovers and fish. There is a vegan option if you love your veg! Service was excellent my only wish is for more comfortable seating.

Only good things to say about Fish and Forest. Great quality food and super service. Even though the menu is compact, all dishes were appealing to make the choice tricky. Everything was well prepared and presented immaculately. Would highly recommend and would certainly revisit in the future.

The food was amazing with a small menu which they change every day. I had one of the best oysters ever tried too. I will definitely come back to try their delicacies again. Well done guys.

We had an amazing dinner here tonight. Seafood was perfectly cooked, sauces were delicious, and service was terrific. We thoroughly enjoyed each and every dish. Would definitely return when visiting York again.

Each meal was delicious and packed with so much flavour. We chose Fish and Forest to celebrate a birthday and we are so happy we did, the staff are very friendly and know the menu so well.

Faultless, from the wonderful, knowledgeable table service to excellent well thought out food combinations, with an emphasis on fresh seasonal ingredients. The only thing you need to do before leaving is to book your next visit. Thank you for a great dining experience Fish and Forest.

First time here, can't wait to go back. Great experience from start to finish. Food and service exceptional. The Halibut Grenobloise (pictured) was unbelievable.
