Museum started as a private collection. Imaginary of battles beautifully re-created to show the soldiers at their best. Worth a visit if in the area.

A wonderful place and possibly better than the national collection . A very wide range from ancient warriors through Rome and Napoleonics to WWI and II. Some very large dioramas especially of Waterloo and Gettysburg.

Took my two sons and nephew. They had a great time. A range of different displays and the owner happy to answer a barrage of questions! Great fun on the challenge to spot / find / count 15 things in the museum. I would recommend a visit.

Silloth is a lovely day out for everyone to enjoy the Green and the sites and sea views and if you need a drink try the RAF club. Plenty of places to eat round the town .

What an excellent toy soldiers museum, it took me right back to my childhood. It's only small but it's packed with figures to see and battlefields made up to recreate those battles of old.Fantastic place to visit I absolutely loved it

My childhood comprised of Hornby Trains and Toy Soldiers - life was so simple in the 60s! This exhibition took me right back there. On the day we went The Battle of Waterloo was being re-enacted & Napoleon was well on his way to winning (NOT!)The whole exhibition has been lovingly constructed by someone who understands the childhood delights of such toys. I peered into each case with such longing that my wife, in the end, had to drag me outBUT we will be back!Wish this had been in Cumbria when our boys were growing up - I could have explained my own childhood more simply Anyway I now have a grandson who has a treat in store. This is an essential port of call (appropriate way of describing Silloth!!) for any self respecting dad or granddad. Check it out. You won't be sorry!
