Lovely garden center amazing range of things including deli and a butcher! Also does workshops. Coffee shop puts calories very clearly on the cake labels which was useful and eye opening

Just had the fabulous cream tea! Large and tasty. Shame that the restaurant feels abit like being in a cold motorway service station but with no views either, however the service from AMY serving the cream teas was exceptional and made it worth 10/10!

Great afternoon tea, big improvement on last year’s bad experience! Loads of delicious food including sandwiches, quiche, scones (with jam and cream), chocolate éclair, three other cakes and strawberry mousse! Thanks to Amy who went out of her way to make the experience special.

Had lunch with my wife at the Three Legged Cross restaurant today. A disappointment, I had ham, egg and chips followed by by a scone and tea. The plate was cold causing the items to quickly cool down, the tea was in a large ceramic tea pot which caused the contents to be look warm. The scone was excellent. My wife had a prawn salad which was fine followed by bread and butter pudding which was cold and served on a cold plate without sauce, when queried a hot sauce was later provided. The two meals were expensive. The staff are excellent and work very hard, the restaurant is kept clean and very tidy, the service is good but the food prep requires more care.

This used to be a great garden centre before Hilliers took over. The cafe/restaurant used to be very nicely laid out, customer friendly, and very reasonably priced for a really good variety of food and snacks. We went in for the first time since the takeover just two weeks ago. We'd had a very long drive from Birmingham so headed straight for the cafe. The first impression was that it appeared very regimented with virtually no character or atmosphere. We joined the queue at 3.20pm. There was one person being served in front of us. The menu being displayed (illuminated panel on the wall) had a reasonable selection of sandwiches etc.. The girl at the till was still serving the only customer in front. To say that she was slow would be a gross understatement. Eventually we got to the till and ordered drinks and a couple of sandwiches - only to be told that the kitchen closed at 3.30pm! I explained that we'd been in the queue since 3.20pm and it had taken over 10 minutes to just serve the one person in front - we just wanted a couple of sandwiches!!! A male member of the cafe staff then came over and said the kitchen is definitely now closed and the only food available was cake or tarts. The price range:£3.99 for a slice of cake, £3.99 for a small slice of bread pudding, £3.99, for a Bakewell Tart, and (you've guessed it) £3.99 for a scone. Everything on offer was £4.00 all but 1p.!!!Bearing in mind the above and that both staff appeared to have a couldn;t care less" attitude (both were probably only 18 to 20 years old with no real experience of dealing with the public) - my promise is:Hillier Garden Centres??? Never again - anywhere in the U.K.!!!"

On a very miserable rainy day , we decided to go and look at the all the Chritmas displays to get into the festive spirit .Not a huge display , but what was there was lovely.I really wanted to review the food and drink and staff in the restaurant as they were clearly short of staff . But the lady who served us was very polite and helpful despite being the only one serving. She politely said she wouldn't be long while she was serving the other customer and was still happy and friendly. When our food came it was delicious especially the festive orange and cranberry scone with apricot jam and fresh cream and more reasonably priced and a manageable size to eat than their close rivals up the road at Holt !

Poor customer service and overpriced. After being ignored at the till for some time, I was finally served by a lady who appeared to be void of social skills and didn't make eye contact with me once. I asked for a babycino and to make sure its not too hot. It was served scalding hot. I politely pointed that she'd forgotten a mince pie I'd paid for and I just got a grunt in return and the plate with the mince pie got thrown onto my tray with zero care. As for the cost, it was £4 for a small slice of cake. Haskins' cakes are £5 and 3 times the size. A babycino with marshmellows was £2.30. Haskins do the same for 80p and they don't try to burn my child's oesophagus. I wouldn't have minded the extra cost if it was nice experience, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.
