Extern Ormeau Centre

This hostel won an award for excellence based on previous management record. New management has taken hostel on a nose dive to hell in less than two months. From being a place of calm and tranquillity the Ormeau Centre is now incredibly disorganised & once good staff are behaving like bullies without conscience. Tormenting vulnerable adults, lying, abusing positions of authority, failing to act as support when residents need it.It's grim. The handful of solid gold staff won't last long in this now toxic environment. God help the lot of you.Edit - having documented such awful abuse. Extern reply with a comment claiming a functional complaints procedure which is in fact, deeply flawed, corrupted & absolutely not fit for purpose. Also having outlined such terrible traumatic abuse & failings we look forward to hearing from you" appears a strange turn of phrase. One might assume the "owner" of extern who has failed to provide a name or official tittle would be considerably better trained in diplomacy. This serves to highlight poor practice & a lack of professionalism."

Caught staff laughing as they abused the CCTV enjoying a zoomed in image of a female resident in distress. When I raised my concerns, rather than showing humility & decency both staff behaved indignantly, they proceed to victimise me, eventually pushing me to breaking point. Worse still they portrayed themselves as victims rather than taking ownership of their behaviour. There are three or four good support staff, the rest are indifferent or in some cases, deeply corrupt, nasty bullies. Staff routinely demean residents for their own gratification, the manager is a very sinister person as is the co-ordinator. Both fundementaly dishonest, manipulative people that have no place whatsoever around vulnerable people.Unfortunately there's a culture in hostels of staff abusing their power, even going as far as to take donations for themselves instead of giving them to homeless people who the items were donated for. Imagine taking food from a homeless person? Nicole doesn't have to imagine because that's exactly what she did.The way many staff behave is probably illegal but, homeless folk are subhuman. We don't have rights and alarmingly many members of staff highlight this attitude on a daily basis.Note to staff - your job is to support human beings. It is not to bully, harass, gaslight & represent continuity of abuse many suffered as children. Whilst you get away with this behaviour, it's wrong. If management fail to regulate poor practice it doesn't mean what you do is ok.God bless the cleaners & support worker Laura in particular. You are wonderful people.To the worst offenders, you are not good people. All of you make life tough for vulnerable people for your own gratification. There are people who may still be alive today had folk done their jobs rather than engaging in spiteful, nasty, fundementaly unethical behaviour.It's tough at the bottom, if people wonder why some folk opt to sleep on the street rather than taking a hostel place. It's because hostels are often not good places, staff abuse of residents is commonplace.

well not been in orma hostel but yes i believe reviews are honest people need help but these hostal staff are law to them selves why have police not stepped in
