We visited for a late-lunch as a group recently. Despite the pub being busy, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely, would recommend steak and ale pie.

We came here for dinner after a long day of walking - the atmosphere was a perfect mixture of traditional cosy pub and high quality modern gastropub. Very good service despite being busy. Fantastic food and very friendly staff. So good we came back the following night for dinner!

Nice pub with good food. Bedroom was a bit small and basic but so was the cost of staying here! It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very nice. We ate a couple of evening meals here too and they were nice and good value.

Best pub in Hathersage. It's a must visit. Very nice and friendly atmosphere. Great selection of real ales and the food is amazing. Steak and Ale pie was so good. Thank you, Andrew and Nadine.

Traditional pub,nice atmosphere, cosy and great food. Gluten Free options on many of the meals great service from our waitress Sylvia even as the pub was very busy Sunday Lunch time. Only a small car park, so parking can be difficult particularly at Weekends.

Went here for our mums 70th birthday, the food was really nice, service was great and they were very kind and accomodating bringing out and letting us have our birthday cake in the pub.The only minor downside I would say was the live music was a bit loud for a sunday lunch vibe. But that's just our personal preference.Thanks again for making it a lovely birthday :)

I have been visiting this pub for over 40 years both as a child and a man and what never changes is the warmth that greats you as you entre the front door. I took my elderly relatives out for a late minute lunch appointment last saturday and they were very very busy but the warmth the manager and his staff showed me was excellent with the food very much 5 star and just wanted ti say a massive thank you and will be coming up again feom down south very soon and will be booking rooms next time. This is the pub that I envision when I read English based stories. It is quant and lovely. The staff is so kind and accommodating. And the steak and ale pie is delish. The pints are really good also. If you are in the area and hungry check this place out.
