The Crown
We were staying locally and we were recommended The Crown for our evening meal. We booked in advance and also checked if the pub was dog friendly, which it was. We all sat in a designated area for dog owners which has bowls of water and treats for your dog. I chose the fish and chips which was a generous portion of freshly battered haddock, chunky chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce. The service was very friendly and efficient. A great meal was had by all. There is a lovely garden area to sit outside on summer evenings.

Starters were good but a bit if a disappointment with the main courses. All the ingredients on the Sea Bass dish seemed to vary a lot in temperature, whilst the duo of lamb was a case of inaccurate description. The menu promised lamb rack but what arrived on the plate were lamb cutlets and sadly the whole dish was overdone with Rosemary. Service was good from both servers but sadly the two main courses let the experience down.

Great pub on the edge of the New Forest. Sign up on the app in advance and get money off your first meal. Quiz night was popular and the server was lovely. The pub is really dog friendly. So happy this is my local now.

Would have given 5 stars all round if only my veg was served hot and the carrots were not so hard to eat (not quite cooked through ) left feed back with manager who listened intently if they address the minor issue it would be faultless and perfectHad a steak pie with puff pastry, excellent and piping hot, just like a good pot pie should beSister had hunters chicken, again very enjoyableNice hospitable staff , and is a lovely warm atmosphere for a local country pub. As I live in the North West sadly I can't revisit so soon would however gladly fully recommend based on my own experience today

Leave 2 stars cause staff were amazing. Camembert that we order was taste like ammonia. Roast turkey over salted. Maybe we was so unlucky or reviews on google are fake.

Really nice environment, both in and outdoor seating available, plenty of separate spaces inside to have a more private area, would recommend booking in advance. Food was really tasty and the honey pot pudding was very intriguing but delicious! Has its own car park at the front of the building.

Lovely place, and with festive season arriving the decorations were cosy and gave off a really nice atmosphere. The food was amazing as always, and really lovely staff, both Karen and Amy, ready to help and gave off positive energy throughout our time. Overall a really friendly and enjoyable evening meal out. Highly recommend.
