Clever Cloggs Day Nursery
A functional Nursery but I would not recommend it unless you have no other choice. The premises is secure, adequately staffed, appears well equipped and somewhat organised however the high turnover of junior staffs and lack of flexibility is telling. Whilst not an expensive Nursery there are much more cheaper options nearby that are equally functional with better operating hours. The Nursery opens 8am and closes at 6pm but the staff will keep insisting that you pick up your child before 5pm and give you looks of disdain if you arrive at 8am. The nursery will provide you with daily complaints (sorry updates ) about your child and make you feel guilty and considering if you actually need to go to work. Whilst the junior staff members are well trained, friendly and welcoming, senior staff and management seriously need to attend customer service training and re-evaluate whether they are in the right profession.

Good Nursery. Clean and Standard. Staff are clean and friendly unlike other East London nurseries where staff were dirty and scruffy. However, they could improve their communication with parents better by trying every avenue available. Food wise, they provide Halal food, the place is clean and organised. Not the very best but it has all standards you will need.

Would not recommend your child to go there, worked there years ago, should be reported to Ofstead as they only see what is being shown just for 1/2 day, the nursery go by the books and ticks all the boxes, however it offers very poor service, often making fun about children based on their looks, clothes etc, children are not offered enough food or sometimes their dessert would get taken away if they misbehaved, management talking and gossiping about parents all the time. Favouritism within children while some children are disliked. management is terrible.

If I could give this place a 0 star rating I would. My son attended this nursery for almost 3 months at first everything seemed promising the nursery was clean, the team and nursery manager seemed lovely. After the first month everything went down hill. EVERY evening during pick up I was given a long list of complaints about my child not eating along with other problems i.e. him not sitting for long periods dispite him only turning 2. After a long day of working the last thing I wanted is to hear constant complaints about my child. Being a nursery that praised themselves on how well trained and qualified their staff are it’s surprising that none of them could find a solution to helping my son eat at nursery. I should also add my son was at the nursery full time (Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm) and had started lossing a load of weight. My confusion with his eating at nursery is that he never had any problems with eating at home and when I told them that they called me a liar (pretty much).Although drop off and collection was between 8am - 6pm as mentioned in my contract they would expect you to come pick up your child lastest 5:30pm otherwise would start to charge you every 10 mins you’re late. There were a few times they would call for us to collect him early or do drop off later due to a shortage of staff. I found them to be completely unreliable honestly. My son was assigned a career called Hayden. I got the sense that she completely disliked my son, which I know had a negative impact on him. He would cry EVERY morning. I assumed this was part of him adjusting and that this would eventually stop, but it never. He hated it there. I remember right before the Christmas break after being tired of hearing all the complaints I decided to pull my child from the nursery. Upon explaining why I could see the relief on her face. I was absolutely disgusted honestly considering how much I was paying each month. My son wasn’t a difficult child he was just a toddler trying to adjust to the nursery. Immediately after removing him from this nursery I took him to another and he is absolutely flourishing and is considerably happier!

My son attended this nursery for a year and about a month. Through his time here, I kept being asked at least 2-3x a week about his potty training atleast. Which isn't realistic to need a update that often, gets annoying. They had complaints everyday, when you see the manager of the nursery on the daily basis you'd think it's something serious. However it was not, my child had and still has special needs. They were involved with the refferals for his support and diagnosis yet they still didn't know how to handle him. Do nursery workers not get training to deal with children with special needs ? Do they expect all children to behave the same eventhough they can see that he has special needs. Anyway things blew up and I'd had enough of the complaints after he had started his second year, that's why he had only attended a month. After not having any complaint during the summer ( because he wasn't attending) they got straight back to daily complaints. I got tired of hearing it and always asking me to come get my child. As he's acting up he has special needs. Surely , at least one person should have some trainer to deal with children that have special needs. Nursery is the child's first place of education, it is supposed to be fun and bit of learning but he was punished because he had special needs. He's now enjoyed his second nursery and started school in September and is very happ and got all the support he needed in another nursery and his current school. If you have a child with special needs, definitely go for Edith kerrison nursery. AVOID THIS NURSERY, THEY ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL.
