The Wreck and Ruin
We've just had the most magical week at The Ruin and it truly lives up to all of the other amazing reviews listed here. Wonderful location and everything about the design, layout and finish of the cottage is spectacular. The weather wasn't kind during our visit, but it didn't hamper our enjoyment of hunkering down and enjoying the beautiful space. We can't wait for a return visit.

The Wreck and Ruin
We have stayed in many cottages all over the UK and without doubt the wreck and ruin (we stayed in the ruin) is absolutely the best by a long way. The actual cottages and standard of fixtures and fittings is perfect. The location, well it will take some beating we didn't quite know it was on the loch till we arrived. We defy anyone staying here to find fault in anything. Perfect in all ways and the owners Jamie and Martin were the perfect hosts. And our dog Tito made a new pal in Finn who came down to visit most days. We will definitely be back but fear it is going to be hard to get a booking in the future as it is going to be in bid demand.

The Wreck and Ruin
I was fortunate enough to be one of the first guests in this Highland gem before it becomes celebrated as one of the most unique, luxurious and tranquil accommodation experiences in Scotland. We were warmly welcomed by Jamie and Martin with a beautiful hamper of local foods and food essentials which we had forgotten to take. Exteriorly the cottage has an inviting and fitting traditional rustic look which blends into the shores of Lochbroom. The stonework is beautiful and the turf roof really makes it stand out on its own. Inside is luxurious, with incredible underfloor heating, a modern, homely bathroom and the handmade kitchen has everything you could need. The cottage has been constructed to an incredibly high standard using modern building techniques and insulation, making this a warm and comfortable retreat which can be enjoyed all year round, even in the depth of winter when you can snuggle up with a book, a dram and not a care in the world. There is an outstanding level of detail in the furnishing of the cottage and no expense has been spared to make this into such a bespoke shoreside haven. Although there is a TV, we had no use for it as we spent so much time just meditatively looking out of the window at the constant changing moods of the sea, watching fishing boats head out into the Minch and even being lucky enough to have spotted some dolphins and seals.Everyone of our three nights was a blissful experience, helped greatly by our generous hosts. We are looking forward to returning again later in the year and we have already booked ahead as we know that once word gets out about the Wreck and Ruin, it will get booked up well in advance.

The Wreck and Ruin
The Wreak is amazing. We have stayed in many cottages over the years, and this one is outstanding. The attention to detail is fantastic even down to the welcome treats left for us on our arrival. The setting is stunning and tranquil. So thankful we found this place. Hope to be back soon!

The Wreck and Ruin
We've had an AMAZING week in The Wreck. It really is an astounding place and Jaimie and Martin have done a brilliant job in creating the two cottages. We absolutely loved it and really noticed all the thoughtful touches around the Wreck. Thanks to the binoculars we watched a pod of dolphins and countless seals in the loch. We've never visited this wonderful part of Scotland before but certainly will be back. A smashing place to stay.

The Wreck and Ruin
