Before I met Jonathan I had found a mortgage via a different firm that unfortunately fell through - I consequently I needed a new one and fast. We were first time buyers and picked Brighton and Hove Financial Consultants because they were recommended by Glyn Jones estate agents.While Brendon was very friendly and pleasant to talk to, we found that there was a lack of attention to detail and honesty about our financial situation. We were given a budget much higher than we could afford as he had not carefully checked our income details (self-employed). We were reliant on the advice and guidance given by Brendon as we lacked the experience to know otherwise. Ultimately, as Brendon was not forthcoming with us about a realistic budget for our house move, we ended up loosing £1200 in solicitor fees due to the house sale falling through. We changed to Assured Mortgages Worthing who took the time to go through our bank statements and earnings carefully, give us a realistic budget, and they helped us move into our first home.Really wish that more time had been taken to go through our documents carefully, check everything was accounted for, and talk to us honestly when new information came to light rather than rushing forward.
