This opticians come highly recommended. The practice utilises the best screening facilities and the latest clinical equipment whilst retaining that family practice feel. Furthermore, both clinicians and front of house staff are helpful and friendly. Also, if looking fashionable is important to you, this is the place to choose your eyewear.

Saw this shop as I passed through the Grainger Market and decide to give them a try. By comparison with the big name retailers I'd visited the same day, the Northern Optical service was outstanding - friendly, expert and personal. The specs were ready in 3 days and are first class.(They even took the time to assess, measure and explain why a pair I had recently bought elsewhere had been disappointingly troublesome.)Highly recommended.

Lovely staff and faultless service! I don't wear glasses, but I had a pair of sunglasses that have broken a couple of times. Both times The Northern Optical fixed them very quickly, and I have no issues since. Highly recommend!

Great service lovely staff very helpful

Lovely, lovely people. I fell and damaged my glasses travelling up from London for a week away in Northumbria and feared it was going to ruin the trip as I'm very short sighted so really need my specs. We just walked in to ask for assistance and they could not have been kinder or more helpful, providing a temporary repair with no charge as well as a healing dose of sympathy so I could get on with my holiday. Massive shout out to say thank you. BTW the frame selection looked really good.

I recently had a problem with my glasses where the frame broke, but the lenses were still intact. After visiting several shops in the city center, I was disappointed to find that most were not willing to fit my lenses in a new frame without insisting that I purchase both frames and lenses.However, I was lucky enough to stumble upon The Northern Optical Company Limited, located inside Grainger Market. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly and professional staff member who immediately set to work trying to find a solution for me.The lady staff member was incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, and was able to fit my lenses into one of her frames with ease. Although there was a slight difference in size, she charged a very reasonable fee to grind the lenses down to fit properly. Additionally, she even went above and beyond to help me find a similar frame to the one that had broken.Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the service provided by The Northern Optical Company Limited. The staff member was kind, patient, and incredibly helpful, and I would highly recommend this business to anyone in need of high-quality optical services. Thank you so much for your help, and I will definitely be returning in the future!

Fantastic company, Simon and Katie are very, very professional but also very, very nice caring and jolly people. It is always a pleasure to see them and their kit these days is fantastic.
