Yorkshire Doula

Claire was absolutely brilliant!What originally started as just a request for some clarification after some very confusing medical advice from an overstretched antenatal service (didn't have a midwife assigned all the way through the pregnancy due to shortstaffing) we decided she was amazing and incredibly knowledgeable and so easy to get on with, like your best friends come round for a cuppa and a natter. When discussing birthing options (again after very poor confusing advice from maternity services) she gave all sides of the argument so we were able to make an informed decision.Based on how brilliant she was we quickly realised we wanted her help after the birth too.I honestly don't have a bad word to say and if we were to go through it all again I would immediately go back and have Claire as my doula!

Claire was my midwife for my second home birth in 2015. Throughout my pregnancy and postnatally and beyond, she gave me much needed emotional support. She was also very helpful in navigating NHS services during my pregnancy. I'm so grateful I met her at just the right time and would highly recommend her now as a doula.

Claire was fundamental in supporting me to have a wonderful homebirth VBAC. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I am so proud of having delivered my second baby here at home, and it’s something we talk a lot about now she is 4. Claire and her colleague Hannah, held my hand, gave words of encouragement and supported me to do it. Claire is no nonsense and will be an advocate for you when you come up against those industrial birth ‘professionals’ who will coerce you into making decisions against your better judgement because they ‘know best’. If you are drawn to contacting Claire do it now, avoid the trauma that you will otherwise be exposed to, and you will have the best pregnancy, birth and post-natal care ever.

Claire is just a fantastic human. Her support and care during my two home-births under independent midwifery contributed to wonderful and memorable birth experiences. Whilst I’m sad claire is not doing midwifery, she is a huge advocate for evidence based support and will be an excellent doula.

You will be in the best hands possible with Claire by your side during your birth! She had such a wide breadth of experience, in both home birth scenarios and in a healthcare setting. She is calm and brings warmth and humour to situations when needed and is professional yet like one of the family at the same time, striking just the right balance:)We couldn't think of anyone we'd rather have had at our babies births and couldn't recommend her more highly!Thank you!

I met Claire at a Mindfulness Meditation group that she organised as part of her Nativity Hub project in 2015. I also attended a Birth Art session which was incredible; telling my own birth story, hearing others and using art to process and capture the memories. There were also bump castings, beautiful placenta artworks and film screenings amongst other things. It was a beautiful space full of beautiful people, and at the centre of it all was Claire.Claire was refreshingly comforting, pragmatic and actually helpful in the confusing post birth 'trying to learn keep your baby alive whilst you are barely functioning' part of becoming a new parent. I had been to many many different services and baby groups and never felt comfortable; but within her company I instantly felt at ease. I even found a group of friends that I am still in contact with almost 8 years later. She has always been super helpful whenever I have messaged her out of the blue with a question and if I ever saw her on the street I would go out of my way to say hello (and I don't say that about many people!)If you are looking for a doula with education, experience and genuine interest in all things birth and beyond, I would recommend Claire in a heartbeat. <3

Claire cared for me during the birth of my second daughter at home. She provided incredible support and helped me to trust my body and get over my fears. She is a wonderful person and advocate for women. I would highly recommend Claire to anyone who is looking for practical and emotional support during pregnancy and labour.

It is impossible to put into words the amazing work Claire does. Claire was my midwife when I was pregnant and birthing 7 years ago. She was hugely supportive, a source of reassurance when I needed it and was up to date on all the latest birth studies and information out there. A compassionate, present, cheerful presence, she was a vital guide during the tricky time of bringing a new person into the world. I would highly recommend Claire as an experienced birth worker and doula without hesitation.

I had the pleasure of training alongside AND being cared for by Claire during my last pregnancy. She is passionate, knowledgeable and a fierce believer in TRUE choice, both as a person and as a birth worker. Her support is unwavering and she is a fantastic advocate, having provided care in sooo many different settings and being naturally open-minded. If I decided to have another child, she would be the first person I’d be contacting.
