Digley Reservoir south car park

Free parking, great walk, great landscape

Great carpark to park in for a walk around Digley Reservoir. The carpark is free and there's plenty of space in it. There's also another carpark further round the reservoir. It's a great walk around the reservoir on decent paths. Plenty of other people were walking round too when we went.

Such a lovely place to go an walk and see some lovely views.Its a shame people have to ruin it tho.Mindless idiots.Highly recommend if you fancy a nice walk not very pram freindly tho and there are a few steep stairs.Results of a disposable bbq.

Very nice place for walks whether with family or self. Feel of resh air. We found Dovestone Reservoir car parks full so this was an alternative. Digley is small but really worthy a visit. Will visit it again.

free parking, the nearest toilet is in ten minutes walk Holme village. It is a good location to start hiking, hiking routes e.g. Black hill, Holmfirth and snailsden reservoir etc.

Had a lovely circular, challenging in some places walk around the Res today. It's not flat there are plenty of hilly places and steps to negotiate along the way. So not suitable for disabled or buggies. However the walk is lovely and the scenery quite stunning especially as the heather was in full bloom

Beautiful scenery and a great walking spot,even better if the sun comes out.

Took our dog for a walk around the reservoir and it was great. Fellow dog owners were all responsible, generally really tidy too with beautiful views. I can imagine it gets really busy we got the last space in the south car park so really handy that there is a second. It’s marked as moderate on a walking app but I consider myself quite unfit and found it fine just wear decent shoes!

Re: parking ... Very remote .. probably ok at the weekend when there is plenty of people in and out but midweek it felt very risky leaving it parked up in such remote spot with no cameras to keep an eye on car criminals who might just be passing through Greenfield to holmfirth .The walk was quite short in distance .Approx 4k ish or about 6500 steps ... Varied terrain but mostly rocky paths with sand ...Some really stunning views of the Moors and a great photo opportunity at water level once your get half way round .. .There is another carpark which seemed busy on the north side but I'd say I was happy to have done it clockwise rather than anticlockwise as the steps on the way down and. Steep and quite a challenge which the fence helped .... The. The incline near the end is lined with slippy leaves right now so walking down presents easy ways to slip and and damage you ankle ... Even in walking boots ! ..My advice would be park in the busier car park.. walk across the reservoir via the bridge the do it all clockwise from the south carpark..
