The Barbership: Southsea

Second visit to this barbershop and it did not disappoint! Friendly team and a calm atmosphere, you can’t really ask for much more. I’m usually quite meticulous about my hair but Craig truly nailed it and he couldn’t have done a better job. I recommend this place if you want something more than the student discount barbers you see all over P&S. A premium service for a fair price.

I've got a haircut this tuesday morning. they let apprentice barber practice on me and charge me £19.5. If you are going there, do not ask for Pee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! although he is not ready he is a very nice guy.For the manager, I hope you see this comment and do not charge customer for apprentice barber practice. It is uneven not even close to describe this as a hair cut, more like playing a scissors on a toy and I have to carry this stupid look now. Probably the worst hair I have ever seen in my entire life

This was my first return visit after first visiting a month or so ago. This time I booked a free cut with an apprentice. It was Pete again who I enjoyed having a cut from last time.This time Pete was being taught on the job and his teacher was patient and thorough in teaching Pete, and is clearly an expert in his field. I was even learning! Pete has a great opportunity here to grow and make it in the trade. His attitude in how he responded to the teaching, carefully taking on board what Sonny was showing him, and keen to learn, will set him up for great things in future.I am liking this place! Thanks gents.

I've walked past Barbership in the old place loads of times as a local resident. But I've never been one to pay more than minimum on a quick and easy cut and always assumed they'd be way too trendy for me!. As it was my daughter's birthday party today and my old place down the road closed down, I looked up Barbership and turned out there was an appointment slot available for Pete in 25mins time. Great for a Saturday! I've never made an appointment for a haircut before but actually found doing that SO much better than trying to look in the window or have an awkward step into the shop to see if it's busy or not. Pete's cut was great, and Pete was really friendly and genuinely interested to find out about me. I felt very comfortable straight away. Also good conversation with James next to him too! I think I have been converted to spend a bit more on my head to use a good local barbers and enjoy the experience too. Nice one. Thanks. :-)

Booked with James, as I had let my hair turn into quite the jungle. He turned it from a wild mess into something totally respectable, whilst also keeping style and edge - giving it lovely texture and layers, and totally complementing my personal style. He put me at ease that although I'd never gone with him before, that I could trust him to understand what I wanted - and he delivered in buckets and spades. Beyond happy with it!

Brilliant experience and cut exactly as asked for - real care taken to get it just right. my boy is super happy.

I’ve been going the Barbership for over two years now and it’s by far the best barbers in Portsmouth.It’s always a relaxed atmosphere in the shop and Craig is always my preferred barber. His service is second to none.I would highly recommend the Barbership membership. I’m subscribed to the grey membership which allows two haircuts and two beard trims for £40pm. There are also special rates for students too.It’s quick and easy to book an appointment using the Booksy app.I would highly recommend the Barbership to anyone who is either looking to change their regular mundane haircut routine or for anyone who has recently moved to the area and are looking for a top quality barbers.

Took my son in today for the first time and couldn't have asked for a better service and amazing haircut. Sonny listened to my son (who was scared of it being cut too short) and delivered an amazing result.
