The Sanctuary Cornwall

It really is a sanctuary!The grounds ,the location,, the breakfast, the hosts, the room...all fantastic. Can't recommend this place enough. Karen and Dave were so friendly and welcoming and inspiring. They have created and built a very special magical place.We had a balcony overlooking the estuary but there are also lovely places to sit or eat outside or even inside around the large kitchen table..Plus the hammocks to relax in. Walking around the grounds was such a treat, birds, butterflies, fruit trees and wild flowers. We will definitely be back.thank you

This was a delightful place to stay , firstly our bedroom was very clean with a lovely view out across the river. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept very well ~ we didn't miss the TV in any wayIt would be worth taking a radio if like me you enjoy radio 4 and hanker after some sound !!...The hosts Karen & David work incredibly hard at ensuring all the guests are very well catered forAlthough in a rural position there is a nice walk to Fowey which has lots of shops etcBe mindful the drive up is very steep as are the hills but the views well compensate for this ~ when we first arrived we couldn't believe how truly beautiful the place actually isMany thanks for our stay & all your hard work Sarah & Andyat hard at ensuring

Absolutely stunning views, the room was spacious and luxurious and in a fabulous eco building. Breakfast was great with local produce and a great atmosphere sharing the dining area. Karen was a fantastic host with great knowledge of the local area and there aim for improving the environment we all live in. Had a wonderful stay at the Sanctuary and I could not recommend it enough! The view of the lake from the room is stunning, and there is plenty to explore around the grounds, including walking trails and hammocks to lie in. Breakfast is incredible full of good quality and locally sourced produce and was something I really looked forward to every day. Enjoyed kayaking too which was 5 minutes away. Karen and Dave are incredibly kind, accommodating and lovely to chat with. They have built a very special place which I hope is here to stay forever!

The most perfect place in everyway! No signal, no WiFi, no TV just pure peace and quiet and the most incredible views. The Sanctuary is a complete haven of luxury with every tiny detail thought out - Albie our dog loved his tray of goodies and the homemade cake was just yummy!Karen is incredibly welcoming and helpful and the rooms are beautifully clean and the bed was super comfy. The local pub does brilliant food and the village is just the perfect escape from our busy lives. Thank you for a wonderful few days of escapism.

From the moment we got out of the car we relaxed, how can you fail to, in such incredible surroundings!Every need is catered for with such attention to detail and great thought for the environment. The views and ambience of the building and surroundings are just amazing.Our room was spotlessly clean and had all we needed. The bed was very comfortable and the linen felt positively luxurious and was wonderfully crisp! The shower was great and I am pleased to report that I completed the 3 minute challenge on both days and will try to continue at home!Breakfast is a social affair where you meet your lovely host Karen and other guests. Breakfast is continental with buffet service, offering the most amazing local produce. With plenty on offer you won’t go hungry. The coffee and bread is to die for!We certainly got what we were looking for and more. We disconnected from the hustle and bustle of our busy daily routines and left feeling energised and content. We are already planning a return visit with our four legged friends and maybe some of our two legged friends too........if we can bring ourselves to share this hidden gem with them!Thank you Karen for a wonderful stay!

Me and my partner stayed here last week, we have honestly never stayed some where so homely. It was perfect.The rooms are lovely and clean, fresh clean white sheets and a stunning bathroom.The view from our bed over to the river was just incredible to sit and watch.Breakfast for us was 10/10 - if you are into healthy eating then you will be super happy. Karen has fresh bread with every topping you can imagine with cheese and cold meats, yoghurt and fresh fruit fruit and grains. For us this was perfect.In terms of location it worked really well for us, we spent 4 days in Cornwall so we spent a day in Fowey, Portscatho & Watergate Bay. All easy drives.I really hope we can return very soon!

What a lovely place to take a few days out of the rush of everyday life. Lovely attention to detail in the rooms. Delicious breakfasts using local ingredients, and friendly hosts. Very comfortable beds and bedding made for a great night's sleep. We'll be back!

The name is well suited as it is indeed a true sanctuary. We stayed there for 2 nights and enjoyed Karens and Davids hospitality. The rooms are well equipped with a breathtaking view over the valley surrounded by nature. Definitely one of the best B&Bs in Cornwall.

Fantastic place. Karen and Dave are incredible hosts and have done an amazing job setting up The Sanctuary. Can't recommend enough and we're counting down the days to when we will be back!
