Modica Gardens

We chose Sam to help create a series of wildflower meadows at our new house - my wife and I were ostensibly 'non gardeners' so not only has Sam created a fabulous display in what is now our second season he has also been an amazing source of knowledge, understanding and encouragement in helping us progress the garden as a whole. I cannot speak highly enough of Sam and his team and would not hesitate in recommending him for whatever garden project you have in mind!

We 'inherited' a lovely garden when we bought our house nearly 4 years ago. It had grown a little tired and Sam spent a lot of time not only learning our thoughts and preferences, but assessing how best to enhance the garden and change some aspects of it before providing a detailed plan. The results have been exceptional and besides retaining much of the original layout, he has extended beds, planted trees and shrubs as well as masses of bulbs. He is reliable and works hard, together with his apprentice, to make sure the garden continues to look amazing. We would have no hesitation in recommending him.

Sam is amazing, we can’t sing his praises highly enough!He created our stunning front borders! Every season has colour and interest.We are not the only ones who love it, we have increased the amount of birds, bees, butterflies and now we have regular visits from a beautiful big hedgehog and a pair of foxes.Thank you so much Sam!

Sam has been looking after our garden for a year now and we are very pleased with what he has achieved. He keeps everything trim and tidy and certainly knows his stuff with plants and planting. He is good to work with and very responsive to suggestions and ideas. We recommend him unreservedly.

Sam at Modica Gardens created and planted two borders, one of which he newly created, in our small terraced garden in Cheltenham.I had contacted a number of companies but Sam and his business stood out from the rest right from the start.Sam was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable throughout the whole process, from first email contact, to creating mood boards and planting plans, to the day of the actual planting and aftercare.I absolutely love our garden and would recommend Sam to anyone for their garden projects, in fact, I have already recommended him to our neighbours, and he is now helping them with their garden project, too.

We came across Sam on Gardener's World and loved his approach! Our house has a large north facing planter recently constructed and we approached Sam for advice on how to plant so that it is functional, providing some visual screening but also to complement colours and materials. Living in London, we communicated via zoom exchanging inspiration moodboards and he's helped us with everything, from the type of soil, to a selection to plants, bulbs and seeds. We're really excited to see how the planting will develop over the next couple of years.

Sam visited our garden to give us advice on how we can make it wildlife friendly and give us a steer on our ideas. He was really knowledgeable, had spent time researching the wider landscape to make the most of our space and was super friendly to chat through ideas with.
