The Urmston Manor

After a lot of publicity of the last few years I was concerned about putting Mum in to a residential care home. Mum was allocated a temporary space at Urmston Manor. For the first two weeks I visited everyday and talked to residents and carers. I have watched them care and really care about their residents, this put my mind at rest. Of course mum would prefer to be home but she knows it’s not possible and is happy. They even managed to get her eating again and I’ve seen a great improvement with her over the last few weeks. They have treated Mum as an individual, a person and not just someone they have to care for to earn money. I can not recommend this place enough. Thank you Martyn, Lorraine and the team of carers.

Cousin Nora has been a resident since October 2017 when the home was being managed by Martin who is now the owner. The building has been renovated and decorated. Inadequate safety standards have been addressed and many alterations have been carried out to bring it to the very much improved standards in place today. We are sure that the next inspection will reward the owner and staff with the rating the home now deserves.Nora is now very settled and has a lovely room, she has been treated with care and consideration. She has been helped by kindness and advice to overcome some difficulties, for which her family is very grateful.Urmston Manor was chosen after visiting several other homes in the area and we are extremely happy with our choice and would recommend this care home to anyone one who asks.

My wonderful mother lived in Urmston Manor for a year in 2022/23 until she passed away. I cannot recommend UM more if I tried. It might not have a flash exterior/interior as some homes but what it does have is heart! Martyn and his team are amazing and could not do more for its residents. Having been round a lot of homes before mum moved in it was clear that every aspect of caring for our loved ones is paramount. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff care for everyone as if the person was their own relative. Activities round the clock, days out, parties, entertainers coming in I could go on and on. If you want your loved on to receive the very best of everything then UM is the place.

A lovely caring, homely place with patient and friendly staff

Our mother has been a resident in Urmston Manor for over 2 years and as a family we are delighted with the level of care, the staff are all amazing, they have freshly cooked meals, regular entertainment and activities and it has an outstanding CQC Report!Most of all my mother is so happy there, it’s like one big family and they keep us informed constantly should there be any concerns.I would recommend Martyn , Lorraine and the Team to anyone looking for a residential care home for their loved ones.

My mum has been a resident at Urmston Manor since December 2018 but for a number of months previously she received day-care here under a special arrangement, set up by Martyn the manager. This proved to be a well-thought out arrangement which suited my mum’s individual needs and she really benefited socially, making some new friends and joining in daily activities even before she was able to move there permanently.I cannot praise the staff highly enough. They are super-caring, gentle and kind in their approach to all residents with various needs. There is a very warm and happy atmosphere with plenty going on but there is always a quiet spot too, for those who shy away from the crowd. The meals are home-cooked and varied and staff go out of their way to provide something to tempt even the most reluctant residents. I am a regular visitor and look forward to my visits, being welcomed warmly by my first name and always offered a hot drink, a piece of cake or a biscuit. The carers are all wonderful and often offer comfort and support to residents and visitors alike.Martyn has made many improvements since my mum began going there. The building is currently undergoing up-dating and redecoration and looks fresh and modern.I am extremely happy with the care my mum receives here and would not hesitate to recommend to others.
