the gate near the woodhead tunnel was closed with barwired. there was no advance note or other warnings that the only path was closed when we came down from bleaklow head. we eventually climbed over barwired gate.the black clough waterfall was worth to visit, it was not difficult to scamble few rocks but had to cross the river few times so it won't be possible after heavy rains or you are willingly wet your feet.A round trip from torside reservoir car park to bleaklow head is approximately 12 miles. the paths walking up and down from bleaklow head are stoney.

I enjoyed hiking here. I would love to come back again. P.S You have to climb sometimes. Some paths are tricky so you need to be careful in every steps.

Lovely walk to Woodhead tunnel 6.5 miles return. Buggy accessible. Gentle climb from Torside CP. Lots of benches along the way. Cycling & Bridleway. Stretch down to Hadfield too.

Beautiful trail that takes you to either the light scramble up the river ravine to the waterfall of middle black clough at the top, or you can cross the river and go up to bleaklow, beautiful place...and parking

Amazing place. A nice walk to the waterfall with jumps over the stream. Perfect also for not advanced climbers and walkers.

Longdendale Trail
Always a nice place to visit for a hike/walk/picnic. The river is close by and adds a very nice background to a picnic. However, if you plan to eat by the river and under the shade, then be prepared for a lot of flies & bugs that bite.

Lovely.Part of NCN62.Great views of Woodhead and Torside reservoirs.Plenty of fauna and flora.Nice pathways, originally the old railway line.Woodhead tunnel and old station platforms worth a look.Hundreds of tadpoles and loads of dragonflies in the pools alongside the pathways.

Spectacular walking spot with so much natural beauty to be admired on every turn. Car parking can be limited on busy summer days. But worth a visit if you are in the area. Breathtaking ✨

Really nice walk, into the woods you can find a waterfall but you’ve got to go off road a bit and hike through the hills.Only downside to this area is the fly tipping what’s such a shame
