Living at Janet Poole House has been an incredible experience. Not only was the office staff professional and timely. Ben the office manager made sure I was comfortable moving and was always willing to help with any problem i needed. If you are looking for a great place to live with friendly people, live here!

Coming from up North to study in London I was really excited, however I was slightly concerned with regards to finding suitable accommodation. My concerns were put to rest by the landlord and the smooth process of exchange. Janet Poole House is located a stones throw away from some of the most prestigious universities in London. The facilities are modern and clean, centrally located, everything one could ask for and more. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Janet Poole House at all.

I have lived at Janet Poole House since September 2017. The location is perfect and all parts of the city are accessible by bus, tube or by walking. The accommodation itself is of a high standard considering it is a student accommodation. There are staff at the reception desk five days per week to help with any general enquiries or just to have a general chat. ( especially good if you're feeling slightly home sick). Ben and Sally are always available to contact out of hours if needed as well as the house wardens who can help with any problems when staff are not about. There are a variety of room options to suit everyone's needs from sharing to you're own ensuite room. The rooms are efficient for a student who's always on the move and really busy. The communal areas are efficient and the TV area is cozy and comfortable for the days you need to relax and kick back. Then for the not so relaxing days you can take full advantage of the study room and get all you're university work done in time for your deadline. Summer is on the way and so we are currently making use of our outdoor courtyard. We eat and relax outside and you don't even know you're in the big city because it's as silent and relaxing as can be.Also, considering that Janet poole house is set in the heart of the city, you honestly can't hear a sound. No cars no noise nothing. You sometimes forget you're in Central London.Overall, a brilliant place to stay, staff and location are great and staff always go above and beyond to help you when needed.

Update: Manager has since contacted me. Thank you for the assurance regarding receipt of delivery. Hope that it is not too much to ask that a replacement staff be assigned to Janet Poole House in the event of sickness or annual leave, so that there will always be staff on site during office hours, for our students?_______________________________________________________________Phone calls and emails go unanswered, despite desperate attempts to reach both Homes for Students and also Janet Poole House. Service is really appalling. No idea how to get hold of building receptionist (unlike other private student accommodations and private apartments that always have staff at reception or 24/7 concierge). Unaccounted Amazon packages - no one is telling me what happened to my deliveries.

Overall, it's a good place to live in, mainly due to proximity to UCL and the big windows. However, some things around the room are still not properly working, such as the shower and the heater.

Old building with poor room facilities relative to price. Loads of people using leaf in the common area everyday. The price is so expensive, but no 24 hours reception and any CCTV for security. Also, recepition sometimes didnt come to work in the working days. it is essential to mention that there was a homeless guy came in the building and stole the food in the common kitchen several times. The laundry facilities broke frequently, and only accept coins.

poor room facilities-- broken toilet, broken fridge no windows in kitchen or bathrooms. noisy upstairs neighbour problem remains unresolved for weeks-- many restless nights. Have informed manager of the issue yet no effective action had been taken.

The place is quite nice, but personally I would not like to stay here for another year. There are many problems with the building itself and the repairs may take some time. Additionally, the reception is only open on weekends from 9-5, so any little problems won’t be able to be managed until the following week. For the price, I would suggest looking elsewhere first.

I have lived with CRM and UNITE and this was my first with HFS. I wouldn't recommend it. For less or same rent you can find better elsewhere in the same area. Lived here because of no availability elsewhere. Review star is based on living experience relative to price and other student halls. Old building with poor room facilities relative to price. Hot water in basin available very limited run. Bristan electric shower. Room wasn't cleaned before moving in. Maintenance man available once a week through an app. Circuit Laundry with coins. Unreliable heater in room. Walls damaged in room. Website photos unreliable. Room architecture and storage wasn't planned well compared to other halls. Room lightning was poor. Had to buy own lights and lamps and storage. Windows dirty.
