This is a great site to walk round. So peaceful and pleasant. Everyone's so friendly. The colours during the autumn were stunning.

Enclosed area within which to walk dogs safely. Cows in one field at the moment but they keep to themselves. Woodland or open field? Your choice.

Went here for a dog walk, not knowing what to expect. It was a lot smaller an area than we had anticipated although we had a nice walk in the woods. There was a big open field, which was quite good to let the dogs run around; but a long walk this certainly is not!

Buckland Rings is a good place to go for a walk and as it is owned by Hampshire County Council, it is open to the public. There are a couple of fields and a woodland trail. As it is a hill fort, most of the terrain is very hilly and wouldn't be wheelchair accessible. There is a public footpath which is by the Ampress railway bridge, but this is a very busy place to cross and very few drivers will stop to let you across the road. The other entrances have been improved and some of the kissing gates have been replaced with ones that are easier to get through if taking a bike. There are several information signs around the iron age fort with details about the area that explain this better than I can. There's also a sandpit that has been converted into bike jumps by local mountain bike enthusiasts.

A good dog walking spot, with a little history thrown in. It still boggles my mind how ancient people did what they did. A small 3 car carpark can be found just opposite the water tower, on the bend of the road. Also you will find a stunt bike riding track. I have no idea who built this, but if you have a 14 year old, they will love it.

Nice place to walk, area is well looked after. Good aid boards to explain how the site looked years ago.

For all the amazing forest walks near Lymington this remains one of my favs. There’s a real sense of the energy and lives that made this early settlement, the light is beautiful. For an easy assess short walk this is always a winner.
