Claire Williamson Stained Glass

Huge thank you to Claire for her beautiful work updating our Victorian door. We first reached out to ask about having the stained glass window made. Once we visited her studio we knew we were in the right place. Claire guided us through the entire process, was on hand to give expert advice on the glass choices, and really made us feel at peace with the whole process. We would recommend her services to anyone wishing to do the same and needing a custom-made beautiful piece of artwork to help make their house a home.

We bought the two day workshop for my daughter's birthday. She absolutly loved it! Claire was lovely and guided her to produce a beautiful leaded window.

Did a two day workshop with my cousin and had such a good time. We were both total novices and she guided us into creating pieces we were very happy with. She really was so lovely to work with and we went away with a brand new skill and a beautiful glass piece each. Seriously considering making it an annual thing!

I am really pleased with Claire's work. She designed and made a superb front door panel for our 1930's house re-using stained glass pieces previously removed from small opening lights. The design tied in beautifully with the remaining side door panels. She was professional and delivered the panel really quickly.

Claire was absolutely brilliant helping us create a community artwork to celebrate the church's 800th anniversary. She worked with around 800 members of the community including five local schools to produce something truly special that captures the best of who we are. It was great to work with you!

Claire did a fantastic job with a HUGE glass project in school - 480 children and staff each producing their own fused glass tile which were then framed in themed groups and magnificently and hung in school.Her vision, as well as her amazing organisational skills, meant that the project went really smoothly and achieved spectacular results.We would highly recommend Claire for both her creativity and her professionalism.

I can't recommend Claire highly enough. My cousin and I went on a 2 day workshop and both came away with pieces we're really happy with. Claire is a brilliant teacher; she got the measure of our different skill sets and what we both felt drawn to creating very quickly. She then guided us through making 2 quite different pieces over the course of two days in a way that felt unrushed but productively purposeful.Claire is one of the very few people who offer stained glass workshops where you can a) make such a big piece (30x50cm roughly) and b) where you can choose your own design. And her courses feel very reasonably priced and good value.Her workshop is a lovely relaxed space to be in where I could let go of the business of the rest of my life and drop into making. Sometimes chat, sometimes quiet - it all felt natural and organic and easy.I have a medical condition that means I have some specific access and support needs. I chatted to Claire about this beforehand and found her very open to hearing what I needed, adapting to my needs, as well as being realistic about what was possible.Her years of experience of holding space as well as years of skill she's built up of the craft itself is evident.Best of all, she's a very good egg!Get on one of her courses - you wont regret it!

We have been working with Claire for over 2 years now. She has designed and created a stained glass window which now sits proudly in Scampton Church. This stunning piece of contemporary stained glass art work commemorates 100 years relationship between RAF Scampton and Scampton Church. It has gained international acclaim. Claire has also worked in both of our local schools helping to teach 200 children the meaning of remembrance. Following a talk by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Claire helped the children create a beautiful glass tile each. These tiles were joined together into 6 wonderful collages which will take pride of place when all 200 children will take part in a remembrance service in 617 (Dambusters) hanger at RAF Scampton.(photos Claire Hartley)
