City Vocal Coach

I have been working with Sam for the past three months. This is the most improvement I have ever made with a vocal coach in such a short period of time. Sam is passionate, knowledgeable and friendly. He will assess your goals, help you find your strengths and find targeted techniques to improve. Sam explains vocal anatomy and technique in such a clear way, I finally have a good understanding of my voice and how it works and how placement changes the sound. City Vocal Coach feels like a second home. I have attended the songwriting workshop and learned a lot from working with others of all abilities and backgrounds to meet the challenging brief. One of my goals as an artist was to find my sound and I feel like with Sam I am finding that and feeling so much more confident. He makes you feel at ease and that’s so important. I am singing pieces I never would have attempted just a few months ago and learning how to make each song my own. I’m so thankful I found Sam and so excited to see how far I go with his guidance and support.

Daniela has been amazing, very patient and understanding of my goals. She has a clear structure to all of her lessons and so you get used to the process quickly. She consistently gives feedback during the lesson so you’re kept in the loop. She also challenges you with tasks for home. I can’t wait to come back in the future! She has a very positive attitude and unique qualities that makes you want to channel her energy and become more of a professional singer. Thank you, Daniela. You’re amazing.

Sam is by far the best vocal coach I've ever had.Easy going, super nice, knows the human voice and songwriting inside out, and more importantly knows how to explain what are sometimes really subtle concepts in a clear and straightforward way. One of the things that attracted me to CVC was so many testimonies about growth in self-confidence. So I made the jump and I have been taking lessons for almost 4 months with the magnificent Malin, a very talented, patient, knowledgable, relatable, supportive and funny teacher, and I couldn't be happier. With her, I have learned so much about my capabilities, trusting myself a bit more, letting go, expressing myself in other ways, not just vocally. Most importantly to me, I have noticed my growth in self confidence and the feeling of feeling challenged, but supported, all in the same safe space, things which CVC and Malin have been able to provide. My 9 year old is taking lessons with Malin and we could not be happier! Malin is very professional, yet very approachable and my daughter just loves attending her lessons. Malin knows how to be authoritative and friendly at the same time- perfect combination for a child!Every lesson starts with the warm up ritual, then leads to singing which Malin carefully selects. My daughter has learned a lot of songs and got her confidence in performing- we cannot recommend Malin enough!

I have been attending sessions with Malin Andersson at CVC for two months and it has so far been an enjoyable and enlightening experience.In such a short space of time I feel I have learnt a lot and developed my singing beyond what I would have expected.Sessions with Malin are comprehensive, well structured and well timed.Malin takes full account of mind and body and how this can impact the voice (and vice versa), and can go into detail explaining the science and theory behind such phenomena.Marlin imparts different relevant information and tips throughout sessions, and can constantly respond dynamically to different challenges and needs as they arise within and across sessions.Malin never lacks faith in my potential and ability and she knows how to deliver feedback constructively rather than discouragingly. What's more, Malin doesn't hesitate to express enthusiasm and support for my singing goals and interest.

Daniela is a legend and a fab teacher! Even in the short time we have worked together she’s hugely helped me re-build my confidence in my voice and helped me learn to love the individuality of my voice. I've been taking singing lessons from Daniela Finley for the last 8 months or so and have enjoyed every second of it! CVC has been such a great experience so far and has immensely helped my confidence and overall helped me grow as a person. Who knew singing could help out so much?Very warm and welcoming place, with excellent vocal coaches and always a laugh. It seems like they all have a deep knowledge for the voice and its uses, seeing it as an instrunent rather than just the thing you speak with. Daniela always tries to challenge me with great song suggestions that always feel achievable, and not out of reach. Plus it feels great to discover new music that I've never heard before!Would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking to get into singing, even just for fun!

I've been working with Daniela Finley for the past couple of months, and she does not disappoint! This year I decided that I wanted to get back into training my voice, since I haven't had proper training in 7 years, and because I'm a working actor who would like to get back into the musical world again. Since working with Daniela I've grown more confident in my voice again! She really helped me with find my range, that was buried away for years, understand the importance of taking care of my voice, and really created a warm and nurturing environment that really made me relax.Every lesson with Daniela I always unlock things that I never knew my voice could do and grow more confident. Daniela has a deep understanding of the mechanics of the voice and broke down concepts in a clear and understandable way. I originally went with Daniela because of her extensive background in musical theater, but she also has knowledge in various musical styles also to cater to diverse musical interests, so I got to explore more different genres other than musicals. She also took the time to understand my strengths, weaknesses, and musical aspirations, and then designed a list of songs that challenged and supported growth, along with songs of my choosing.Also, Daniela has taught me that singing goes beyond technical proficiency. She's given me guidance on performance preparation, helping me really connect emotionally with the songs and how to engage with the audience.The studio is really cool and cozy. We practice in a vocal booth, so it really gives me a chance to let loose and do my thing.
