Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Twickenham @Bu’sen
Carlos is a great trainer! I have only been training here for a couple of months but I feel progress has been quick. The methodology and philosophy around BJJ that Carlos teaches is second to none, he and the team make everyone feel welcome in an ego free, safe environment no matter what your fitness level or experience. I look forward to training with him well into the future!!

Carlos is an amazing coach and understands the importance of fundamentals, which I had struggled with in other gyms in London. As a white belt I needed to repeat foundational techniques to improve and Carlos facilitates this effectively in his training. Highly recommended.

Hands down, the best academy for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu I have found in West London. Not only is Carlos a world-class instructor, he is also an exceptional communicator and is able to break down seemingly complicated techniques into smaller component parts, making the learning experience quick and enjoyable! I’ve only been practicing a short while and I already feel that I have progressed a great deal. The facilities he teaches out of are spacious and can accommodate large classes. So grateful to have this school in Twickenham!I would highly recommend this school to anyone interested in learning self-defense, building confidence, getting in better physical condition, and making great friends in a safe and inclusive environment. 5/5.

I was a little nervous to start as I did not know much but when I had my first session with Carlos and Zinmar, I felt so welcomed. Carlos is an amazing teacher who looks out for everyone. He also went out of the way and personally trained me at the gym and build my confidence with lifting. Every session is educational and you learn more and more about BJJ and about your own strength. I have now become more active and getting closer to my fitness goals. I highly recommend anyone who wants to begin BJJ to work with Carlos as a trainer.

I have known Carlos for several years and can say that he is a brilliant teacher. He has become a good friend of mine because of how humble and open he is. As a new white belt you don't get shown much respect in most gyms. You have to earn your stripes and usually only then comes the respect. But Carlos welcomed me as a white belt onto the mats like I was a black belt. Now I'm a blue belt, 2 stripe under his guidance. But from that first day I knew he was a special person, a great teacher. There are a lot of black belts out there today but if you want to learn the traditional art of Jiu Jitsu, then you have to dive deep into how it started, the real foundations. And it all began with the Gracie family in Brazil. Carlos learned direct from the no.1 BJJ guy of all time, Roger Gracie, who I had had the honour of meeting once with my daughter. I describe him as the nicest 'killer' you will ever meet.So now it's up to you. You can learn a watered down version of Jiu Jitsu or you can learn the true art, direct from Carlos. Jiu jitsu takes patience and a lot of hard work. If you're going to spend all of that time, money and energy, isn't it worth learning it from the best? This is a 10 year journey my friend - it's a big decision so don't start this journey with the wrong club or the wrong person. And even if you're already at another club or experienced in BJJ, think about how much more you could learn from the Gracie teachings and philosophy. It's the purest form of Jiu Jitsu, the most effective and in Carlos, you'll be supported by one of the best teachers in London.

I've been training at Carlos Santos' Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club since February and I've enjoyed every minute of the sessions. The club has a very easy going and friendly vibe and everyone is made to feel welcome.Carlos' explains and demonstrates each technique in an easy to understand way and is very patient (even when I keep making mistakes repeatedly) and is happy to repeat the technique with individuals until they understand it.Carlos' club train at two venues which are both very good. One of them is a brand new purpose built martial arts studio which is simply stunning.I've wanted to take up BJJ for many years but until now haven't found a club that I liked and felt comfortable with and I'm so happy to finally get on the mat and start my BJJ journey with Carlos and the team.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - teaches you how to defend yourself against a larger stronger opponent whilst fighting on your back..imagine if every woman and girl had this self defense skill! Carlos has outstanding experience with a Gracie background, his classes take the martial arts vs combat fitness route which means focus on technique which for me feels safe whilst still being fun too. It’s great that BJJ is now available right in the heart of Twickenham, what a wonderful addition to the local community! Try it yourself and see :)
