The Crooked House of Windsor
The Crooked House of Windsor is a quaint little structure across from Windsor castle and has a history that involves legal drama, royal mistresses, and even a rumoured secret passage into Windsor Castle. The history of The Crooked House of Windsor begins with its construction in 1592, as the ‘Market Cross House’ on the edge of Windsor’s market square. It stood there for almost 100 years, until, in 1687, the council tore it down and had to rebuild it after loosing a legal battle.

The Crooked House of Windsor
The Crooked House of Windsor was built back in 1592 at the edge of Windsor’s market square and was originally known as Market Cross House. It is next to the Guildhall and near Windsor Castle.Originally it was a butcher shop, but also a variety of different uses including a brewery, antique shop and until 2015 a tea room. It is an iconic building in the centre and Windsor's own Leaning House of Windsor""

The Crooked House of Windsor
Its a jewellery store, full of stylish bijoux little pieces,to delight smiling faces, mainly pearls ...it may well have been a tea shop, and sold cakes but not anymore... The Crooked House of Windsor was built back in 1592 at the edge  of Windsor’s marker square, originally known as Market Cross House...it was rebuilt in 1687...and again in 1887...its still standing, how is difficult to understand, its been a butchers shop, a tea shop, and lots of other things, now its a jeweller...its a sweet, quaint, little quirky, bit of merry England

The Crooked House of Windsor
I had booked as a treat for my wife. We were treated as though we hadn't made a booking. Was shown to our table that had someone else's meals on it. I had to ask to get the table cleaned. The idea was to have lunch there. We both left after a cup of tea and went elsewhere. It is better on the outside than it is in.
