Yoga with Debs is a whole physical and spiritual experience. She holds a safe space and invites you to give your best, whatever you level is. She makes wildness and mindfullness come together in a challenging class, that will get you addicted right away! I am!!!

I travel a lot around the UK and North America and try to find a local yoga class whenever I can. As you might expect, I see a huge variety of studios and teachers - some good, some not so good.I'm pleased to say that Yoga Shak is one of the best I've visited. The studio is small but homely - a lovely relaxing environment and they could not be more welcoming. And in Jill Hoon, they have a quite excellent teacher. She tailors her classes to the different needs of her students and she is helpful, encouraging and personable, all of which truly makes for a very enjoyable class.Love Jill, love Yoga Shak! Highly recommended!

Claire Elsmore - I'm a mental health counsellor working with adults.I have been training with Debbie on and off between babies for about 4-5 years.Debbie has a unique energy that's hard not to be affected by. Having two young children, I'm often drained, so for me having a class with with Debbie is like having a much needed injection of life force and vibrant colour. This is what gets me to the mat.Debbie is clearly in touch with the spiritual aspect of yoga and that's really important to me as a practinoner. You get the sense that Debbie tunes in really effectively with the energy of class and flows with that, incorporating postures that feel right in that moment.I also really appreciate being challenged and encouraged that little bit further out of my comfort zone, meaning I get to try out postures I wouldn't normally attempt.I'm so glad Debbie came back to Old Town to teach. The stars aligned! X

I had my very first yoga class with Debs back in 2015 – and five years on she is still my teacher! Holiday’s aside I rarely miss a class. I have never met another teacher quite like her. She is an awesome, awe-inspiring, person who somehow manages to bring out the best in everyone. Her classes are full of energy and there’s a really good mix of warm ups, sun salutations, standing and balancing poses as well as inversions. She is a very hands-on teacher who will always come around and correct poses which I love and really appreciate. I thought yoga was just about keeping fit, but classes with Debs are so much more than that. If you are looking for your mind, body and spritual tastebuds to be awakened and celebrated, Wild Vibrant Yogi is the one for you. This is a safe place, with a unique, highly experienced teacher, where you will be encouraged to overcome your fears, breakdown barriers, challenge yourselves and just be at one with who you are. I really can’t recommend her highly enough.

I booked a Shamanic Healing session with Deb when I couldn’t shift some personal stuff that was hanging around and causing me pain in a physical way. I have done a lot of self healing but couldn’t crack this one. On arrival at Debs we chatted about what I had going on and sat and enjoyed a warm and comforting Cacao together before we got down to business. I have to say that I’ve not experienced anything like it before…..a white sage and eagle feather, head to toe smoke cleanse, chakra balance and the most amazing healing hands. From being held gently around my head/neck area and being encouraged to face my fear/pain and release…the tears fell on my cheeks, the exhale of trapped emotion was huge and the pain eased, this was repeated 3-4 times until Deb felt we were ready to move on. I’ve practised yoga for around 13 years with several fantastic yoga teachers. I first met Deb in 2015 at the Yoga Shak but have committed to attending her classes regularly for the last nine months. In that time, my practise has come on more than it has in as long as I can remember. I was looking for a challenge and I so found it here! The classes tend to be fast-paced and you can dive as deep as you dare in a supportive, community-spirited environment with lovely like-minded people who come from all walks of life. Deb leads from the heart in her teaching. It’s intuitive; she always seems to deliver just what you need each time, often before you realise it yourself. Deb has an absolute wealth of knowledge and experience so you know you’re in safe hands. Plus, and I can’t overstate this, she has that rare quality of being able to explain postures (and, crucially, the way to get there correctly and safely!) in a way that’s so easily accessible and encouraging that you welcome taking that next exhilarating step right out of your comfort zone. There’s no sense of intimidation or judgement in Deb’s classes - only the warmest of welcomes with others on their shared journey. She brings into each practice an energy and zest that’s infectious and joyous; you find yourself going to places new and exciting each and every time! There is a true sense of community and shared adventure in Deb’s classes. All of this and more is why I unroll my mat with her and all the other fabulous members of Wild Vibrant Vinyasa several times a week. I can’t recommend Wild Vibrant Vinyasa highly enough.
