Grasmere House Hotel

Had a beautiful room with 4 poster bed overlooking cathedral. Great value considering the location. Adequate breakfast though they could only provide instant coffee towards end of service. Lady at reception is lovely and can't do enough. Would definitely stay again. Plus there is the lovely cat!Management could think about refreshing public areas in a few years time I think.

The rooms are a decent size and clean and the price is fair. The staff are all friendly and helpful, it's just there aren't really enough of them and they seem to get confused easily. Currently the restaurant isn't open in the evening but there are plenty of good places to eat in Salisbury.If you get the chance choose a room with access to the lawn being able to sit out is definitely a bonus.

A great place to stay if you are visiting Salisbury, it is a very short walk to the town centre and the historic cathedral.The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful to ensure you enjoy your stay.The breakfast was very good and gave you a good start to the day.The grounds are well kept and the hotel have some lovely views of the river and cathedral.The rooms are spacious and clean, however the hotel is a little run down and could do with an update, but this is purely cosmetic and it did not detract too much from the overall quality.I will stay here again on my next visit to Salisbury.

We've just spent 3 great night's here, very comfortable and clean room. The hotel has fantastic views across the river to the cathedral. It's location is close enough for a 15 minutes pleasant walk into the city centre and all that has to offer. Attila on reception and the bar in the evening was fantastic, very attentive and helpful, you really couldn't ask for more. And DOG FRIENDLY,They were very busy with a wedding on the Saturday but it really didn't detract from our stay.

Our room was spacious and clean, lovely white fluffy towels, the view from our room was amazing, a river and a view of the Spire. Nice garden down to the river. The hotel is a bit faded grandeur., but our bed was soo comfortable who cares.

Beautiful, huge room. Not just accepting of our dog, but exceptionally accommodating, with access to a massive garden from the room. Amazing scenery, short drive to town and sights, friendly staff. Very clean throughout. Food decent, puddings were lovely. Only (very, very minor) negative would be the weak WiFi signal in the room, but we really only wanted it to map our excursions out, so it wasn't a huge loss, given the staff's willingness to answer our questions and offer suggestions. Highly recommend, and definitely plan to return.

Very nice hotel with close proximity to the town centre with an easy 10 minute walk to the shops. Room was decently sized with the beds being very comfortable. The whole building tended to be incredibly hot and meant we had to leave the windows open overnight. Bathroom was modern and had a bath and shower which worked very well. The main thing that let the hotel down was the breakfast (which was included in the price which is nice) it was a decent breakfast but was a bit cold and the staff could've maybe not stared at us the entire meal. Overall a decent hotel with nice rooms and views but breakfast was average.

Damp walls, botched repairs, banging doors, stains on the walls and doors.I am genuinely gobsmacked at the number of positive reviews of this hotel. We were 1 of 3 couples staying and all of our rooms were….interesting.By far the worst was ours. It had lovely views and the bed was clean. Bathroom was modern.Why didn’t we enjoy our stay?- The door to the room was poorly fitted, botched together, very hard to open.- Bathroom door had dirt stains running from the handle- Wall had damp marks all over it- Smelled musty- Stain on the wall- Random access door to pipe work on the room had no insulation could hear everyone’s drains / taps- Wardrobe is chucked in so close to the bed you can’t open the doors!- Kitchen beneath constantly slamming doors all morning, literally shaking furniture in our room, woke us up at 07:00 . Fed this back and was told they’d make a note…-Overcharge attempt at check out (breakfast we didn’t have) same thing happened to other guests.- Hotel closed for our original stay but cut off all contact with their head office and booking sites which meant changing the date was an absolute nightmare and took months of stress.As I mentioned I’m genuinely shocked at the positive reviews I’ve seen as our stay was anything but positive, I would go as far as saying it is the worst hotel we have stayed in for many years.

Beautiful setting. And a very comfortable stay. Lovely big room, with a large bed. We also had a door out into the garden which was a real treat.Breakfast was very good too.Will happily stay here again!

Lovely hotel. We had a ground floor garden view. Which was just stunning. Lovely to sit outside in the evenings. Breakfast was lovely. They ask you on arrival what you'd like. And breakfast didn't disappoint. Only about a 20 minute walk into main Salisbury which was fine. Lovely stay and would stay again.
