Let's talk about spin classes.Firstly the complaint and the reason why I only rate it 3 stars...air conditioning. The spin room is huge, they have BRAND NEW bikes (see below). The bikes are positioned in the corner by the mirror (fine). The room has air conditioning (10 units apparently) but the units by the bikes DON'T WORK. The rest of this big open space is nicely chilly but around the bikes there's a fug of hot sweaty people which isn't comfortable for classes. These problems have been reported but facilities staff don't seem to be doing anything about it. Which is a shame because here are all of the plus points about Spin classes at Eldon Leisure...1.New bikes - very snazzy, much better than the previous bikes. Smooth gear change, easy to set up and nice computer to tell you how fast/far/long you've been riding.2. Instructors Enkhe and Lisa are excellent, sessions are well thought out, the music is upbeat and appropriate (I sometimes find myself singing along to them) and the workouts are challenging, fun, technical and nackering!3. The changing facilities in Eldon leisure are clean, with hot/cold showers which are reliable, hairdryer that is actually very good, £1/token lockers and plenty of space.4.Staff on the reception desk are helpful, and friendly.

Bowling was awful!! It looks run down and the staff are not capable of a smile or say hi. The pins are attached to wires unlike the professional places and they're spread out so difficult to get a strike!

Mid food, mid drinks, mid experience over all.Two lanes broke and you can only pay your food by card. Not worth the 40£ for four people. Staff are really nice and helpful though.

You can join for a week and its only £15 as an introductory price, then its either DD or monthly and all options (to me) are reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful and the kit is good. The classes are varied and there are several each day. I really enjoyed spin and the circuits but there are so many other options. The kit in the main gym is good, theres a boxing bag, kettle bells, workout mats and so on plus there are watt bikes (I do love a watt bike). For anyone wanting a decent gym in the city centre I'd definitely recommend this one or if you're visiting and would like a more short term option (as many don't seem to offer that!).

Overall good customer service, no problems with the facilities. Could do with music throughout the centre (changing rooms and corridors) but satisfied. OH, and the student membership; AWESOME! Thank you for making it more affordable! Love it!

Poor quality gym. A large percentage of the equipment is broken, missing pieces, unsafe etc. Many staff frequently moody and passive aggressive.Demographic of the gym is a mix of old folks who like to use it as a social area and loud children.Cannot comment on the quality of the climbing wall etc as I've never used it, but given the fact that the other facilities are so poorly maintained, I don't think it will be a high standard. On the positive side it is cheap, however there are much better gyms in the area for similar prices.

Took my four year old cousin to the soft play - a little over £5 for an hour. It was a little pricey, but it felt relatively worth it. There are sections for younger children and older children, as well as a small footie court. My cousin was incredibly entertained, but I feel as though parents should be encouraged to watch their children. My cousin and other little girls were punched by older children repeatedly and the perpetrator’s parents did NOT even move a muscle!

Attended birthday party at Eldon square bowling. Good place for adults and children to enjoy. You have snacks and drinks over there.
