St Peters Church, Copdock & Washbrook and St Mary the Virgin Belstead

St. Peter's is a traditional style, rural Suffolk, stone church with tower. Located on the far outskirts of Copdock village, it's to be found on the border with the next settlement, Belstead. However, for much of its history the church at Copdock has been considered as being the 'younger sister' of the older church in nearby Washbrook. Although St. Peter's churchyard is contained by a stone wall, the site feels very exposed, with views onto arable fields from all sides. However, look north & there's a closeby view of Copdock Interchange & the 24/7 retail outlet located on that multi-roundabout, (where the iconic TOYS'R'US logo once glowed in primary & secondary colours). Despite the vicinity to the A12/14 bypasses, the churchyard lies far enough away to remain tranquil & surprisingly free from traffic noise. It's a place of calm with trees, grass, & gravestones of different ages spaced all around the church...
