Beefeater The Woolpack
Went here for lunch. Lovely atmosphere and great service. Burger was perfectly ok too, nothing to complain about. Could have done with a few more chips though tbh. I wasn't all that pleased with dessert, however, because the waffle had been microwaved and was therefore a bit soft n soggy. All in all though, a great place and very good for a beefeater. I would recommend.

Nice little cosy looking pub/restaurant on the A20 with a premiere inn next to it if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area.We are local and have Come to the woolpack many times with no issues. Unfortunately on this visit there were issues. We ordered the steak surf and turf combi. Priced at £23.99 so fairly expensive. The service did seem to be slower than usual, but when we entered it did seem to be more busy than usual. When our mains came the first impressions were very disappointing. Portions were far from generous, presentation was of a low standard and calamari over cooked. It was far from the price that was being asked. There is a picture attached.I asked to speak to a manager. Laura arrived promptly. I simply asked if she would pay £23.99 for the meal served to me. Added to this we had waited around 35mins from starter to mains. She agreed that it was not up to their usual standard. She offered to have the meals re done.I appreciate that sometimes we do not get things right but how can you make it better when something goes wrong. Laura dealt with the situation very professionally and promptly and the whole team worked together to get it right. Although I put 3 stars for food the replacement was 5 but the portions were still a little low.I could not fault all their efforts, this experience would not deter me from coming back and I would still reccomend.Keep up the hard work and thank you.

Was busy, no doubt about that. Our sever was good. Brought us refills without asking. Unfortunately food was majority cold when brought out, cold chips, cold ribs. The guy on the door seating people (possible a manager?) Seemed too busy/uninterested in dealing with things so just paid up and left. Our table was next to their till and every 5 or so minutes all you could hear was the staff and manager moaning to each other about things then they mucked up another tables meal deal and was right next to our table for almost 15 mins sorting it couldn't hear myself think let alone talk to my partner. Like I say, only good thing about this really was the server who gave is refills without asking. Wouldn't revisit in a rush, which is a shame as used to be the best Beefeater out there but that's now clearly changed based on my experience Friday eve

I was served today by a young lady called Alex, who is very polite and hard-working.The service was impeccable.Alex showed maturity beyond her years, which is very impressive.Nice place, relaxed atmosphere with great customer service. The staff keep offering me a seat closer to their vacuum cleaner & I keep offering to do the cleaning instead of paying.Luckily, they appreciate my sense of humour.

Very nice layout inside and decor. Staff very friendly and great service. Good atmosphere. Had the roast sharer platter. Great value and £3.50 for refillable soft drink. Unfortunately the veg in the roast wasn’t great, hard boiled carrots, more stalks than broccoli. Roast potatoes were nice if a little dry. Peas felt boiled out of a bag. Gravy was very oily and lacked flavour. Chicken was amazing! As well as the cauliflower cheese is always lovely. We asked for beef Pink and it was very raw so will ask for it done more next time. Overall nice lunch but will stick to the other beefeaters.

Our table for 14 people was booked for 7.30 6 weeks ago, we were still waiting to be seated at 8.30. When we arrived we were told there was a 15-20 minute delay. We had young children with us who obviously were very hungry. The manager didn't seem bothered by the situation, despite several members of our party enquiring as to how much longer we would have to wait. We made the decision to leave just after 8.30 and when my husband, then my son-in-law spoke to the manager he rolled his eyes at them both. We will not be visiting The Woolpack, Hothfield again even though we have been going there regularly recently.

Beefeater The Woolpack
Midweek, afternoon lunch with 2 work colleagues, a fair bit off the beaten track, hence 3* as there was little atmosphere.Had to wait 10 minutes to pay the bill as our waitress was chatting to other dinners, which isn't bad, but we needed to catch a train and didn't have the luxury of time. The food was reasonable, as was the price. £14 for 3 courses, albeit on the smaller side... but it was 14 quid, so I'm not complaining.

First of all, you know what you are getting with a Beefeater. It's steak, burgers, ribs, fish & chips, etc but i prefer that over a posh restaurant with pretentious food any day.It was quite busy on the day we went as it was a Saturday near Christmas, so the car park was quite full. The atmosphere inside was great & the staff were absolutely lovely. We never found ourselves looking around to find someone to ask for something, which was impressive considering how busy they were.Food was great, it came out hot & tasted good. The Triple Chocolate Brownie was amazing, well worth a try if you like that kind of thing. All in all a good experience.
