Yesterday I visited because my 8-year old child had a sickness which has been going on for 4 days now, we were the only ones here at the time! Waiting was super quick and convenient and staff were very friendly! This place is so much better from what it used to be. Went 2 times this week because my child's sickness was serious and his temperature was potentially life-threatening.

Excellent care by experienced, caring professionals - kind and approachable, and lovely with my 4 year old. Everyone, from initial booking clerk, nurse, student nurse, HCA and consultant were great - thankyou!

Worst experience ever visiting a children’s A&E department. Waited over 11 hours only to be told could be waiting another 4-5 hours. Disgusting service don’t know what priority list they follow but I’m sure they not prioritising each case properly. My daughter had abdominal pain and was coughing up blood but that’s not considered serious. Parents walked out with Lots of seriously ill children. This is not right!!! NEED more doctors.

Worst hospital experience ever. Arrived here at 11pm with my three year old who was in severe pain and screaming. Pain relief wasn’t touching him. Was told it would be a 4 hour wait to see a doctor. And luckily my son had settled down, so he lay on the chair, asleep. After waiting a further 3 hours, I was told it would be another 5 and a half hours to see the doctor. I’m still here now at 4am. The receptionist has gone and turned all of the office lights off. I haven’t seen staff in ages and there is literally me and one other parent here. This is absolutely disgusting.

Everytime I've taken my child to any other hospital ive had to wait from 12-24 hours for any service but children's it never takes that long also the care received from doctors and nurses are brilliant

I would love to give 5 stars but unfortunately been here for 7hours and my little one has not been seen to by any doctor after a allergic reaction but im guessing she is fine after that initial shock. I had rang 111 and came here via ambulance. I ask the nurses and I hear that it has been very busy today. I wish we was told to go home rest then come in 8hours after. This is horrendous.

Having a gymnast at home over lockdown we had a few visits to this hospital and a couple subsequently due to nature of the sport. The doctors and nurses are exceptionally considerate and have always treated my daughter with great respect and skill. They really do get children and are very thorough ensuring follow up if necessary. The effort to do a great job is apparent. Waiting times are very random and can on occasion be lengthy so the department could do with more doctors. Despite the wait, we feel very lucky to have this facility in Birmingham and really appreciate the hard work that everyone is putting in.

We had the most wonderful service and care from the two paramedics, door staff, signing in nurse, vitals review nurse, doctor and consultant at the emergency department. Myself, my sister and partner were reassured by the paramedics who were excellent with our very upset 3year old. We were treated with care and genuine compassion by friendly, attentive staff at all stages and the whole process was very quick especially considering the time of the year. My daughter was even given a Christmas gift which really cheered her up. Couldn’t have been taken better care of at such a worrying time for us all, thank you all for everything you do x
