Hate this place, they are the most inconsiderate people about, they tut and moan when the dog barks, but they are happy taking our money

Euthanized my cat.....the vets compassion felt disingenuous and 'judgy'. Lacked people skills

Worst “vets” around. Would not recommend. Their staff are rude and extremely inconsiderate. We had to have our beloved dog put to sleep, which we were told would cost £100. They made promise after promise that he would be kept in his blanket to keep him comfortable and with his favourite toys to be cremated. We went over the next day to collect our dog as we had arranged to have him cremated privately to have him back home where he belongs asap as they wanted to send him hours away 2 days after he had been put to sleep which would have taken ages. As we went to leave we were locked in the vets by Elouise who told us we couldn’t take OUR dog from there unless we paid £140 which was not what we was told prior. They treated our poor boy appallingly over there. They brought him out to us wrapped in a plastic sheet and a towel and just dumped him on the table like a piece of meat. Absolutely vile. Do not take your beloved pets anywhere near this “vets” if that’s what you want to call them.

Not even deserving of a 1 star. ABSOLUTE AWFUL PEOPLE. My dog had teeth removed here which cost ridiculous amounts of money and after a while he became very very ill. We kept taking him back and forth and all they were doing were prescribing him antibiotics every time. This resolved nothing. The vet then proceeded to tell us that the only thing that could be done was to send him to a vet in Bristol which would cost £4,500 or he needs to be put down. All staff had a terrible attitude and the vet had no remorse towards us what's so ever. We then took him to get a second opinion as you could clearly tell they didn't want to do their jobs properly. We took him to PDSA in Cardiff, who took scans of our dog and we we're told that he had a big tumour on his spleen and needed to be removed as soon as possible. Which PDSA did 2 days after having his scan and he is like a brand new dog. Budget vets blackwood did no scans, NOTHING to rule out that our dog could of had cancer. They just kept giving antibiotics and charging us hundreds of pounds in the process. They should be ashamed and the staff working here should not be in charge of looking after pets. They will always be to blame for us nearly loosing our dog.

Having changed to these vets due to the falling standards at the vets we were registered with 10 yrs plus, Our black lab was suffering from a mass on his neck, which was inoperable because of it’s position. Due to the rapid deterioration in his health, we had to take devastating decision to have him put to sleep. The staff were very understanding, treated us with empathy and dignity helped us through the process and to have our final time with our boy. When we joined this practice we have not only been to Blackwood, but also Abertillery, both sites have given great service, honest advice and I recommend them on my experience I’ve had from using them.

Excellent work very friendly and caring staff they took care of my puppy and I will happily be returning in the future thanks I would definitely recommend south Wales vets

We have been with South Wales Vets, Blackwood branch, for 11 years.Archie, our Jack Russell has always received the very best of careKarina Jenkins on reception is always welcoming and friendly and helpful, as are the nurses and vets.Vet Hannah Blair has looked after Archie over the past 11 years since he was a puppy... She has a thorough understanding of his condition and needs and always listens to any concerns. Hannah looks after owners as well as their pets.We wouldn't even consider going anywhere else.

Fantastic vet practice - kind caring staff - cannot fault them. We’ve had a number of dogs over the years and used various vets. This practice has been the best. Thank you all - and a big lick from Nugget.
