I found Mestre Pezao after trying out a few other masters so I can say that the decision to stay was based with some experience. I instantly felt at home and I completely agree with Nadia's review where she states that there was something in his music and movement that straight away made me want more and more. My capoeira has also developed a lot since I am his student and my music skills too

Capoeira is so trendy in London now, but it is still hard to find a class where music, dance and movement are combined and this combination is the essence of real capoeira, which is why I really enjoy Dende de Maré's classes.

Baha helped me so much with playing instruments and with movement. I’m very grateful to him for the improvement I’ve seen. Professional capoeiristas who have a passion For the art . Baha is a great professor. Music is amazing when we play with the group. I’ve learnt that through music we can expand our knowledge of Capoeira Angola. Baha is very knowledgeable with the instruments and music. We learn about the history of capoeira through chats, movement and music. Also Portuguese as a bonus. Mestre Pezao is super! Such a wholesome, soulful capoeira experience. A full immersion into its historic roots & stories, music and dance - each aspect given its equal importance. The group is wonderful, and provides a non-judgemental, safe space to express oneself. I never thought before my first class, that I would be so captivated by this art!

Since my first class with Mestre Pezao I felt Dende De Mare was the right place for me! There's was something in his music and movement that straight away made me want more and more. My capoeira has developed so much since I am his student and my music skills too, you never finish learning capoeira, it's an ongoing process where there's always more to learn. I am glad I found Dende De Mare in my path and more then a capoeira group we are a family !!! It's not easy and it takes dedication and a very good guidance in your path. I am happy I found a Mestre that can bring out the best of me,always keeps me motivated to learn more and always challenges me to the next never ending level !!!!

Group focuses both on musical and physical aspects of capoeira and teaches you not to only play Capoeira but the history and tradition. Very friendly and welcoming group, definitely recommend!

Although I only joined a month ago I feel at home because everyone has been very welcoming and supportive.It has been amazing to learn so much about a martial art I’ve always admired.
